A Million Little Things Review: Ten Years (Season 2 Episode 7)

A Million Little Things, Reviews

Theo’s birthday party ends well for members of team Katherine on A Million Little Things Season 2 Episode 7, “ten years.”

It’s good to see that Eddie is firmly on his wife’s side. It’s one thing for the three adults to talk about the situation when all of the guests have left. It’s so rude for Delilah to bring anything up while the party is in progress.

The audacity of that woman to whine to her ex-lover about the fact that his wife is also talking about the situation to their mutual friends is beyond words. I’m so proud of Eddie for shutting it down.

Idolizing Jon as much as the whole group has since the series premiere also comes with a few extra sides of coddling the hell out of Delilah, and it needs to stop. Period.

So, it’s great to see Katherine have a scene bonding with Regina. She deserves friends on her side. Plus, Regina is able to see how accepting and sweet Katherine is with Charlie and put Delilah’s behavior into perspective.

Delilah’s kids are teenagers. They are grieving their father’s death; that’s to be expected. Delilah is using Jon’s death to hide the fact that she’s a flawed human from her kids. To be blunt, that’s disgusting.

I’m so proud of Katherine for telling Delilah that she’s partly responsible for Katherine’s marriage falling apart. It takes two and all of that. But in this case, she’s right. Delilah knew Eddie was married with a kid when they started the affair.

So Delilah acting like the poor, sad victim who shouldn’t have to be an adult in this situation is maddening.

Katherine and Eddie will have it easier telling Theo because he’s younger, there’s no doubt about that. But even if this fight goes to court, this writer is Team Eddie and Katherine.

I’ll stay here even though I do feel worse for Sophie and Danny than I ever have before because P.J. is their brother, which… yikes.

Jon and Barbara essentially did the same thing to Jon’s friend Dave that Eddie and Delilah did. Because Dave died on September 11, PJ just had an extra fake father to get to before knowing the truth.

But PJ’s story is still disconnected from the rest of the group and that reveal just happened, so that’s all there is to say about that for now.

Back to Eddie and Katherine: It’s so nice to see them truly connecting. Katherine doing wifely things out of pride and joy is so much character growth. She should be proud of herself.

Major kudos also go to Maggie for the dog switching. Or is it just dognapping?

Either way, this whole Colin fiasco brings Maggie and Gary closer together, along with being an unexpected means through which Maggie is motivated to get her driver’s license.

It turns out not to be as pointless a plot as I originally thought, even though Gary won’t have to dig deep to find himself after losing his beloved dog.

It’s still rather ridiculous to think millions of Americans will just suspend disbelief and accept that an entire group of adult friends can just skip work and look for a dog.

All’s well that ends well — and if we’re being honest, I’m pretty attached to Colin now.

Theo’s not the only person to get his wish on this episode. Gary, Maggie, Eddie, and Katherine also have wishes come true in different ways.

Everything is about to get really messy, but all anyone can do when adulting gets hard is hope they have a person.

Delilah has Andrew, but she’s making the situation harder on herself by ignoring reality — so she’s not to be pitied.

A Million Little Thoughts:

  • The flashbacks to Theo’s birth and Theo stopping Eddie from taking a drink are unnecessary. Telling would’ve worked just fine in both cases.
  • I want to see a whole flashback episode about Eddie and Katherine’s past.
  • All of the thanks to the A Million Little Things team for not writing a scene where biological siblings kiss. No matter what your relationship is with someone, if you could technically call someone brother or sister… it’s just gross.
  • Rome and Regina are still extremely underused, and it’s so sad.

  • Jon was ignoring his wife–Katherine was ignoring her husband. Delilah and Eddie got together and produced Charlie. Not a great idea but it happens in real life as well as in soaps. It takes two to tango but Katherine puts most of the blame on Delilah. Delilah has the most to lose in tell or no tell. Hey kids–PJ is your half brother because your father was an audulterer. Eddie is Charlie’s father because your mother is an adulteress. Sleep tight kids, pleasant dreams! Delilah needs support. Eddie is a wimp. Gary is cynical and too wrapped up in himself. Good guy Rome, nurturer and healer, comes to comfort Delilah and the kids. I hope DJ hired a child psychologist. Rumored to be 19 episodes. Great acting by the way. ( I might be a little prejudice, Esme. I have been a we bit smitten with Stephanie for a long time!
