Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV for the week of September 22nd! We’ll be sharing our picks for what to watch this week, from new specials to big guest spots, and significant episodes of TV to look forward to.

This week’s picks include our farewell to SuitsProdigal Son‘s debut, One Chicago’s return, and more!

Your favorite first responders are back and dealing with a massive emergency when a day at the beach goes wrong. 9-1-1 returns Monday, September 23 at 8/7c on FOX.

Episode Description: A teenager speeds out of control on the freeway; a routine traffic stop uncovers a shocking kidnapping; Buck struggles with his recovery.

A criminal psychologist has to deal with his severely dysfunctional family, which includes his father (Michael Sheen) who happens to be a serial killer. Prodigal Son debuts Monday, September 23 at 9/8c on FOX.

Episode Description: Criminal psychologist Malcolm Bright helps the NYPD solve crimes, while also dealing with a manipulative mother, an annoyingly normal sister and a homicidal father.

A new spin-off enters the black-ish-verse as the story of Bow’s upbringing is told with mixed-ish, which debuts Tuesday, September 24 at 9/8c on ABC.

Episode Description: A young Rainbow and her family try to acclimate in the suburbs after life in a commune.

New Amsterdam – Tuesday, September 24

With one big cliffhanger at the end of last season, Max and company are back to deal with life 3 months after the accident and to reveal who survived that accident. Who survived? New Amsterdam returns, Tuesday, September 24 at 10:10/9:10c on NBC.

Episode Description: Max works to find a new normal three months after the accident and the birth of his daughter; Kapoor grapples with the stigma of aging; Iggy has a successful day that inspires a life-changing idea; Reynolds deals with an unreliable new intern.

Picking up right where we left off, the Med staff are left to deal with the fall out of Connor’s father’s death, Natalie’s accident, and some big news for Maggie. Chicago Med returns Wednesday, September 25 at 8/7c on NBC.

Episode Description: Will and Natalie battle for their lives after a car accident; an investigation is launched following the suspicious death of Cornelius Rhodes; Maggie receives life-changing news; Dr. Charles cuts his honeymoon short to tend to a patient.

Chicago Fire – Wednesday, September 25

Our favorite Chicago firefighters are back and are bracing for immediate danger as a mattress factory gets out of control. Chicago Fire airs Wednesday, September 25 at 9/8c on NBC.

Episode Description: The mattress factory fire spirals out of control; truck and squad lay it on the line in hopes of getting the trapped victims out alive.

Suits – Wednesday, September 25

Our favorite Cloud 9 employees are back and learning how to deal and mobilize in the face of Mateo’s ICE detention. Superstore returns Thursday, September 26 at 8/7c on NBC.

Episode Description: Amy tries to help her employees cope with Mateo’s ICE detention — and with the introduction of a new robot co-worker that makes them fear they could be replaced.

The Good Place – Thursday, September 26

It’s the beginning of the end for the Soul Squad as Eleanor takes the reigns as architect. The Good Place returns Thursday, September 26 at 9/8c on NBC.

It’s the finale of The Outpost as everyone prepares for an attack and big decisions loom. The Outpost finale airs Thursday, September 26 at 9/8c on The CW.

Van Helsing – Friday, September 27

Vanessa continues her mission and is introduced to new blood along the way when the vampire drama returns. Will she be able to make it back to the real world and what will her new mission look like? Van Helsing returns Friday, September 27 at 10/9c on Syfy.

The Politician – Friday, September 27

We’re introduced to the cutthroat world of high school politics with this dark comedy from Ryan Murphy and company. The Politician drops Friday, September 27 on Netflix.

Series Description: Payton Hobart, a wealthy student from Santa Barbara, has known since age 7 that he’s going to be president of the United States, but first he has to navigate the most treacherous political landscape of all, Saint Sebastian High School.

Saturday Night Live – Saturday, September 28

The end of the summer means the return of Saturday Night Live. The season kicks off with host Woody Harrelson and musical guest Billie Eilish. Saturday Night Live kicks off a new season on Saturday, September 28 at 11:30/10:30c on NBC.

Episode Description: Woody Harrelson and Billie Eilish, serve as host and musical guest, respectively, for the season 45 opener, which airs live in all time zones. Upcoming hosts include Eddie Murphy, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, David Harbour, and Kristen Stewart.
