A.P. Bio Un-Canceled: Season 3 Moving to NBC’s Streaming Service

News

After two seasons of snark and grudging heart, A.P. Bio was canceled by NBC due to struggling ratings. Fans rallied through social media, and had their wishes answered today. Class will be back in session, though still with no actual biology.

There is a catch—the show returning on the network’s streaming service means those without cable may well not have access if they aren’t willing to shell out for yet another viewing option. Still, the news is more than welcome for all involved.

The switch to a streaming option also makes sense for the numbers A.P. Bio was able to pull it. While it was near the bottom of ratings when in competition with NBC’s other network shows, this new outlet may also give the show new life.

Showrunner Mike O’Brian is fully on board with the approach, saying “I’m so overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the fans. The cast and I are thrilled that we get to make more, and I’m excited to work with the NBCU streaming platform.”

Cast members including Patton Oswalt have already taken to Twitter to celebrate the surprise renewal and thank fans for coming together to help make it happen:

AP Bio stars Glenn Howerton, Oswalt, and Paula Pell. It’s produced by O’Brian, Lorne Michaels, and Seth Meyers.
