Jon Seda, Colin Donnell, and Norma Kuhling to Exit NBC’s Chicago Franchise
Change is blowing in for NBC’s Chicago franchise. Three series regular cast members Jon Seda, Norma Kuhling, and Colin Donnell will exit their respective shows at the end of the season, according to Deadline.
Seda — who has played Detective Antonio Dawson on Chicago P.D., Chicago Fire, and Chicago Med for six seasons — is perhaps the hardest exit for fans to handle. He started on the franchise’s first show, Chicago Fire before he was spun off to be one of the core cast members on Chicago P.D.

But there will be changes in Gaffney Chicago Medical Center personnel, too. Donnell and Kuhling are hanging up their scrubs on Chicago Med.
Donnell has played Dr. Connor Rhodes since Chicago Med Season 1. In true TV doctor fashion, his rank and specialty have evolved from Trauma Surgery Fellow to Cardiothoracic and Trauma Surgery Attending. So, everyone’s going to feel the impact of his departure.
Kuhling, who first appeared on Season 2 and was promoted to series regular the following season, plays Dr. Ava Bekker, also an Attending Cardiothoracic Surgeon.

Deadline reports that according to sources, all three exits are for “creative reasons related to the characters’ story.”
As of Apr. 19, Donnell is the only cast member to release an official statement about the news. On Twitter he said, “Sorry to say that this is true. I love my #ChicagoMed #OneChicago family dearly. And a special thank you to all the fans that have made these last four seasons so amazing.”
He continued, “It’s been an honor to be a part of such a great trio of shows and in the @WolfEnt family. I know that there’s great things coming for Season 5 and I can’t wait to see what they are along with all you fans. xoxo C.”
