Siren Review: Natural Order (Season 2 Episode 3)
Ben and Maddie fix up an old aquarium for Ryn, Helen finds out she has living relatives, and Katrina makes her move, again, when Ryn shows signs of weakness on Siren Season 2 Episode 3, “Natural Order.”
It’s not shocking that even though Katrina brought a peace offering to Ryn at the of Episode 2, “The Wolf at the Door,” she still tried to kill her again. Even though Ryn has already defeated Katrina, she continues to defy her because she will never be comfortable taking orders from her.
Katrina is not the type of person to take orders from someone, it’s not how she lived in the ocean, and it’s not how she’s going to live on land. She doesn’t want to change because she thinks that if she does change then she’s becoming more human and to her that’s inexcusable.

I think that if Katrina tried to learn more things about being human she’d be good at them because she’s intelligent and is already picking up the human traits fast. But, she still doesn’t abide by the rule of not hurting humans.
By now Katrina knows that when being on land she shouldn’t attack humans, but she still does it because she sees herself as the superior and she hates humans. If Ryn wasn’t with her in the middle of the road, there’s no doubt that Katrina would have killed the man that almost hit the group.
In the end, after snatching Katrina by her hair and stabbing her with her tail in the aquarium, it should be obvious to stop messing with Ryn. But, I think that Katrina is going to continue to try to kill her as long as she’s still in charge of the pack.

I like that Ryn is adamant about Ben or Maddie not getting involved in her fight with Katrina because she knows that wouldn’t be a good move. All Ryn wants is for Ben and Maddie to stay safe, and if they get in the middle of a fight with Katrina, they could easily be killed.
Ben and Maddie seem to be getting closer slowly, but with the siren song affecting Ben more and more, I wonder where the relationship will go. Especially now that it seems like Maddie’s heard the song as well. Well, she says that she didn’t listen to it, but I think she did and won’t tell Ryn because she doesn’t want to scare her. Her face and reaction while Ryn sings is a dead giveaway that she heard it.
The siren song is obviously a problem, but now it’s going to become a bigger problem with a recording that can be played anytime. I want to know what bright genius decided that it was a good idea to have Ben keep the audio file of the song.

After knowing how addictive the song is and seeing Ben struggle it should be common sense that he’s not going to be strong enough to resist playing it. They have no clue what the song completely does to humans, so any interaction with it is dangerous.
It’s only a matter of time before Deputy Staub figures out the truth, or thinks of something so insane that Ben or the sheriff will be forced to tell her the truth.
I think that the sheriff should tell her anyway, if he’s going to be gone someone has to know the truth about what’s happening in the town. Deputy Staub is going to be running in circles until she figures out what’s actually going on, which might not be too long at the rate she’s going.

I hope that Xander figures out soon that Nicole isn’t who she says she is because now she’s pushed him to the point of admitting that it wasn’t an accident, his father was murdered. She knows exactly what buttons to push to make him fall right in her hands.
I want to know what Nicole is up to and why she wants to know so much about Xander’s father. Is it all a play to get him to admit that it was a mermaid that killed his father or is there more to it?
I’m ecstatic to see where Helen’s storyline will go this season because her relative is not who you would expect and he looks like he might be a mermaid. I know that it’s probably a fake out and the wound on his arm won’t be scaling, but with Helen’s mermaid lineage there could be a possibility that he’s a mermaid in hiding.
