RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars: 9 Queens Who Went Home Too Soon (And 6 Who Stayed Too Long) (continued):
6 queens who stayed too long:
6. Trixie Mattel – All Stars 3
As you know, BenDeLaCreme eliminated herself to avoid being forced into sending any other queen home. While Ben’s altruistic move deserves a salute, it wasn’t the natural course of events.
In true Butterfly Effect style, her tiny flutter of a decision completely altered the rest of the season. Of course, it led to Trixie being crowned, which was all the more nuts given that Shangela was still in the line-up.
It made no sense that such a repetitive queen would win the season. Baffling.
5. Phi Phi O’Hara – All Stars 2
Phi Phi O’Hara is renowned for being one of the most notorious rotters to compete in either All Stars or Drag Race after her appearance on Drag Race Season 4. In an effort to re-mold her image in the public eye and to make up for all of her cruel sabotage from before, she appeared in All Stars 2.
Alas, despite a generally more upbeat and kinder attitude towards the show and the other contestants at the start, she came across just as bad second time around as her true nature eventually surfaced.
4. Bebe Zahara Benet – All Stars 3
Bebe Zahara Benet was the first ever queen to be crowned by Mama Ru back in the olden days of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Usually, the queens who are brought back for All Stars are those deserving of a second chance, but one of the biggest surprises in All Stars 3 was the return of BeBe.
Some viewers feel it unfair that a crowned queen was awarded a spot on the season. Others see that, despite an early win, BeBe wasn’t given the same opportunities as subsequent competitors considering how much the show grew in popularity.
Anyhow, she may have been wonderful in the first iteration of Drag Race, but she sure as sugar didn’t appear to have a great character in All Stars 3. It was a struggle to watch her get so far.
3. Kennedy Davenport – All Stars 3
Kennedy Davenport somehow made it to fourth place on Season 7 of Drag Race, despite being altogether unlikable. Then she wangled her way into the top two on All Stars 3 — the season of the show that just seemed to keep on giving — even though she found herself in the bottom two more than any of the others.
Fans simply couldn’t fathom how on earth she clawed her way to the top. In a season that featured Thorgy Thor, BenDeLaCreme, and Shangela, here was Kennedy just a mere click of her heels away from the crown.
While Trixie shouldn’t have won, that’s definitely not to say that Kennedy should have.
2. Roxxxy Andrews – All Stars 2
Roxxxy Andrews was one of three ingredients that made up the tough cookie that was Rolaskatox; the three-queen alliance that led to Alyssa Edwards’ untimely departure from her season.
Detox’s naughty decision kept Roxxxy — who had been in the bottom two four times — around for far longer than she deserved. Perhaps the audience would have seen the back of Roxxxy that day, leaving tongue-clicking Alyssa moving on upwards. Sadly, it wasn’t to be.
1. Farrah Moan – All Stars 4
Farrah Moan Moan Moan is one queen that just should never have been given a do-over. First appearing in Drag Race Season 9, she left fans with few memorable moments. These included an achingly cringe-worthy and profoundly unfunny effort during the Michelle Visage roast. All in all, nobody was truly sad to see this teary whiner sashay away.
But many were surprised to see shantay return. In RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 4, Farrah only survived until episode 2, so it may seem strange that she’s appearing in this list. Yet, given that she should never have made it back under Ru’s wing, Episode 2 is still too long.
