When the Arrowverse and Hallmark Holiday Movie-verse Collide: 10 Movies to Watch
The Arrowverse may have gone off on its winter hiatus already, but that doesn’t mean you can’t see parts of the ‘verse out there in TV land.
In fact, there are a few Hallmark holiday movies that feature some familiar faces from Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, and Supergirl!
Here are ten Hallmark movies you can spot some of the Arrowverse cast in!
1. Christmas Joy (2018)

Christmas Joy is one of the latest Hallmark holiday releases and finds The Flash’s Danielle Panabaker in the title role that is very far removed from Dr. Caitlin Snow. For those old-school WB fans, the movie also features Jack & Bobby’s Matt Long as Ben!
Based on the novel by the same name, Christmas Joy tells the story of Joy Holbrook, a corporate marketing researcher working for a big promotion who returns home to Crystal Falls to help her aunt recover from surgery.
Amid her aunt’s recovery, she runs into her old crush, Ben, and finds herself taking over her aunt’s cookie crawl obligations. The movie is cute, heartwarming, and will have you craving all of the baked goods.
2. Window Wonderland (2013)

Before she became Supergirl’s older sister, Alex Danvers, Chyler Leigh was Window Wonderland’s Sloan Van Doren, a department-store window decorator who has her eyes set on a promotion. The problem is that her laid-back co-worker has his eyes set on the same promotion.
It’s a classic opposites attract, forced to work together trope wrapped in a Christmas story with a solid cast with good chemistry, and a grounded story that develops believably.
Arrow’s Carly Diggle aka Christie Laing also starred alongside Leigh as Megan, the cosmetics counter sales girl!
3. Snow Bride (2013)

Before she made her Arrow debut as Nyssa al Ghul, Katrina Law was Greta Kaine, the tabloid reporter that infiltrates a political family’s holidays in Snow Bride.
Though she starts off with a goal of finding some dirt on the “golden son” of the Tannenhill family, Ben Tannenhill. She quickly starts to reconsider her mission on behalf of the tabloid. Snow Bride falls on the more romantic comedy side of the Hallmark movie spectrum and is equal parts funny and sweet.
It’s one of my favorites to watch.
4. The Road to Christmas (2018)

In one of the newer additions to the Hallmark Holiday family, The Road to Christmas tells the story of Maggie Baker (Jessy Schram), a TV producer for a talk show that is producing a Christmas special. The thing is, she’s told to produce the show with the host, Julia Wise’s, son (Chad Michael Murray).
It’s a fun Hallmark holiday movie that features Arrow’s Teryl Rothery trading in her courtroom power suit as Queen family attorney, Jean Loring, for a Martha Stewart-like vibe. The Road to Christmas focuses on family during the holidays in a wonderfully heartwarming way.
5. Nine Lives of Christmas (2014)

This one is another favorite from the Hallmark Holiday-verse (which is arguably now a thing)—Nine Lives of Christmas is the story of a firefighter, Zachary, that finds a stray cat. Though he’s not initially interested in keeping the cat, vet student, Marilee, helps him realize that maybe some company wouldn’t be terrible.
The cat soon becomes the firehouse mascot and brings the pair together in different sweet and funny ways.
Featured as Zachary is is Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow‘s Brandon Routh aka Ray Palmer aka The Atom! He probably one of the best suited Arrowverse actors for the role because he fits into the Hallmark landscape remarkably well and this movie proves that he should definitely be featured in more.
6. 12 Gifts of Christmas (2015)

Another Katrina Law-starring movie makes this list with the 12 Gifts of Christmas.
The 2015 movie tells the story of aspiring artist, Anna (Law), who finds herself helping Marc (Aaron O’Connell) becoming his personal shopper during the holidays. Anna’s unorthodox ways of figuring out the perfect Christmas gifts for his co-workers, friends, and family brings the pair closer together and learning more about each other.
It’s a cute movie and fits in really nicely among the Hallmark Holiday-verse. It’s also fun to see Law play something so differently just as we’re introduced to Arrow’s Nyssa.
7. Christmas in Evergreen (2017)

Christmas in Evergreen is an entry into the Hallmark Holiday-verse that uses the magic of the season to bring a young girl and her single father, a shot to celebrate Christmas in a really snow globe-like environment by spending it in a town called Evergreen.
The movie stars a well-known Hallmark faces Ashley Williams and Holly Robinson-Peete. Christmas in Evergreen also stars The Flash’s Teddy Sears also known as one of the Arrowverse’s notorious villains, Zoom.
8. A Gift to Remember (2017)

My next pick is a Hallmark Holiday-verse movie that uses the amnesia trope, adds a dash more angst than a typical Hallmark movie does, and a cute dog to make for a sweet addition to the holiday line up.
A Gift to Remember finds hopeless romantic, Darcy, finds herself accidentally crashing into a man, Aiden, on her way to work at bookstore. After Aiden wakes up in the hospital without any recollection of who he is, Darcy takes it upon herself to take care of Aiden’s dog and help him figure out who he is.
Legends of Tomorrow fans might recognize Darcy! Ali Liebert made an appearance early on in the Arrowverse series as Nurse Lindsey Carlisle.
9. A Princess for Christmas (2011)

This one has everything: a young woman finding herself in charge of her niece and nephew, a surprising secret revealed, and Supergirl’s Katie McGrath.
That’s exactly what you’ll find in A Princess for Christmas, a story about Jules travelling to Europe with her young niece and nephew to meet their estranged relatives. She soon finds herself falling with the prince, Ashton, played by Outlander’s Sam Heughan!
10. Help for the Holidays (2012)

When a pair of children find themselves at home with parents lacking in the Christmas spirit, one of Santa’s elves comes to try and help find the joy and love of the season on Help for the Holidays.
Who does the chosen elf happen to be? Why none other than Arrow’s Summer Glau! She definitely is the antithesis of Isabel Rochev in her Hallmark Holiday-verse role.

Of course, there are countless other Hallmark Holiday-verse movies where you can spot members of the Arrowverse. Which are some of your favorites?
