15 Things You Need to Know About Grey’s Anatomy Season 15 (continued):

9. Not Your Typical Love Triangle

While we can absolutely expect a love triangle between Amelia, Owen, and Teddy, it’s not going to be typical. Kim Raver said the following in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter:

“We’re in 2018 and I pitched, if we can, not having woman pitted against woman. Amelia and Teddy definitely have what they want, but maybe there’s a different way for us to approach it,” Raver said. “Krista [Vernoff] has informed me a bit on how we’re going to do that and it really seems like an amazing storyline. I can’t talk about it, but it’s a device in the storyline to make the love triangle different than we’ve seen it in the past.”

10. Thatcher Grey is Back

It’s about time! It’s been far too long since we’ve seen Meredith’s father, and now that Scandal is over, that’s given Jeff Perry the perfect opportunity to reprise his role as Thatcher Grey this season.

It will certainly be interesting to see how that reunion goes.

11. A New Trajectory
ELLEN POMPEO

We will see some romance for Meredith this season, but that won’t be the only focus for her character’s story. ABC entertainment president Channing Dungey stated that Meredith would “have a new trajectory that is more focused on who she is as a single mother and surgeon” and that would include an investigation “into a medical condition that is very close to her own family background and history.”

Might that investigation include her father? It’s certainly possible.

12. April and Arizona are Gone
JESSICA CAPSHAW, SARAH DREW

It’s sad, but it’s true. The news was announced earlier this year that Sarah Drew and Jessica Capshaw would not be returning for Season 15.

At the end of the Grey’s Anatomy Season 14 finale, we saw the ends to their stories, which, thankfully, were happy endings.

13. Jackson and Maggie
JESSE WILLIAMS, KELLY MCCREARY

Kelly McCreary hinted in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that as Jackson and Maggie continue to explore their relationship, it’s a possibility that we’ll see Maggie take on a motherly role with Harriett.

And referring to Jackson, McCreary also said that “There are definitely still traces of April in his life.”

14. Jo Gets Inspired
CAMILLA LUDDINGTON

It may just be the case that Jo gets closer to choosing her specialty this season. Actress Camilla Luddington told US Weekly that on her honeymoon with Alex, “Jo actually gets inspired and believes she may come up with a new medical innovation.”

“I’ve heard rumors — rumors-rumors — that Jo might find her specialty this season, which is really exciting and is a long time coming,” Luddington said in another interview with TV Line. “I’m interested to see what it is.”

15. More Family Members
JUSTIN CHAMBERS

In an interview with TV Line, Camilla Luddington hinted that in addition to the fact that we might meet Jo’s parents this season, we would also see more of Alex’s family this year.

She also said that what she didn’t believe we’d see this season, would be any children in the picture for Jo and Alex just yet.
