We recently spoke with Dominique Provost-Chalkley during a roundtable interview at San Diego Comic-Con about Wynonna Earp Season 3, Wayhaught, and Waverly’s relationship with her family.

“When does Waverly not have a crazy year?” Provost-Chalkley said, teasing another thrill ride of a season for Waverly.

“I think that this season is particularly exciting for Waverly because she finally gets the answers that she’s looking for,” she noted.

With Mama Earp back in town, Waverly will come face to face with the person who knows the most about the family she’s been questioning for the past two seasons.

Wynonna keeping the truth about their mother from Waverly may prove to be a strong point of conflict for the Earp sisters, but Provost-Chalkley assures fans that the bond between Waverly and Wynonna is strong.

“Wynonna cares for Waverly so deeply and she doesn’t want for her to be hurt…[Waverly] is so forgiving, she’s one of the most forgiving people that I know.”

Waverly is often referred to as the heart of the show, with her consistent optimism and abounding love for everyone around her. Provost-Chalkley believes most people stand to be a bit more like her character.

“I think that a lot of us have a lot to learn from her, she has the most pure and beautiful heart.”

As for Wayhaught, Provost-Chalkley promises a calmer, more domestic journey for the couple this season as well as a balance of love and support for each other from both Waverly and Nicole.

“I really love where Nicole and Waverly are this year,” she said. “We really know each other, we know exactly what we want from the relationship.”
