ATX Television Festival Season 7 Preview: Station 19, The Bold Type, Sharp Objects, and More
The ATX Television Festival has become a favorite event for Tell-Tale TV, and with good reason. The intimate and relaxed festival is unique, and there’s always a new show to fall in love with and new friends to make.
Rightfully, the festival describes itself as “TV Camp,” and we’ll be returning to camp in just a few weeks. (We’ve been counting down the days, trust me.)
This year is the seventh year of the festival (Season 7), and the line-up looks fantastic. The event will be held June 7th-10th in Austin, Texas. Among the shows that will be featured are The Bold Type, Claws, Get Shorty, The Americans, Younger, and Grey’s Anatomy spinoff Station 19.
The opening night screening on Thursday evening will be the upcoming HBO series Sharp Objects.
Panelists will include Amy Adams (EP/Actor), Jean-Marc Vallée (Director/EP), Marti Noxon (Showrunner/EP), Gillian Flynn (Author/EP/Writer), Jason Blum (EP/Founder/CEO, Blumhouse Productions), Pancho Mansfield (EP/President of Global Scripted Programming, Television eOne), and David Levine (EVP, HBO Programming).
On Saturday night, for the closing night screening, Entertainment Weekly will be presenting Breaking Bad: Saul’s Origin Story, in celebration of the 10-year anniversary of Breaking Bad and the Better Call Saul Season 4 premiere. Panelists will include Bob Odenkirk along with creator and EP Vince Gilligan.

Additionally, festival-goers can look forward to an outdoor Parks and Recreation screening for the second year in a row at the Hotel San Jose Parking Lot. The event will feature music, Harvest Festival themed activities, food and drink, a themed photo op, and a screening of 2 episodes of Parks & Recreation.
Other panels and screenings during the festival will include the Felicity 20-year reunion, thirtysomething, The Affair, Wynonna Earp, Queen Sugar, Castle Rock, Drunk History, and One Day at a Time, among others.

More scheduled panels are “A Conversation with Ray Liotta,” “A Conversation with Robert and Michelle King,” and a “TGIHulu” panel featuring cast and crew from classic TGIF comedies.
There are also a LOT of other exciting panels and screenings scheduled for this year’s festival not listed here. Go here for a look at the full schedule of events.
