The Big Bang Theory Review: The Tenant Disassociation (Season 11 Episode 19)
It is episodes like this one that remind me why I am still invested in this show. The Big Bang Theory season 11 episode 19, “The Tenant Disassociation,” is funny, gives a majority of the characters a chance to shine, and features some excellent snippets of dialogue that I could definitely laugh at during repeated viewings.

When a food truck that pretty much everyone except Sheldon has fallen in love with is forced to move as a result of a decision made by the building’s tenant association’s president, Leonard and Penny are determined to find out who they can blame.
Unsurprisingly, the one to blame is closer than they initially think.
The fact that Sheldon is the tenant association’s president is not turned into a huge reveal within the narrative, of which I am grateful for because it is obvious that Sheldon would take on a position like that.

Leonard and Penny’s reaction to the revelation is brilliantly executed, though, especially since they both also quickly realize that Sheldon is behind the ridiculous complaints they have received in the past.
Apparently, Sheldon sent a complaint for Penny and Leonard because they sang happy birthday too loudly during Sheldon’s birthday party. I find the moment when people sing to me on my birthday extremely awkward so I definitely stand behind Sheldon’s decision. I wonder to whom I can send my complaint next week if people start to sing at my birthday party…
Leonard decides to run against Sheldon for the president’s position and as I suspected in my preview of the episode, he ends up regretting it.

Now that Sheldon is no longer the president he can complain to the tenant’s association about things that are not to his liking. And knowing Sheldon, there are a lot of things like that around him.
I doubt this whole tenant’s association storyline will come up again, though, because I don’t think it is really needed for Sheldon to continue with his complaints about things related to the building, the actions of other people, and so on.

If you have been reading my reviews of the The Big Bang Theory for a while now you are probably aware of how passionate I am about Raj’s happiness. “The Tenant Disassociation,” yet again, provides a little glimmer of hope about Raj’s future but cruelly takes that hope away by the end of the episode.
After Raj and Howard find a drone from Howard’s backyard they fix it up. They have no intention of giving it back to anyone, but when they find out that it belongs to a beautiful girl Raj is all of a sudden in a very chivalrous mood.

With the help of surprisingly hilarious Stuart (I guess he has his moments) the drone finds its way back to Cynthia.
When Raj asks for her number and she actually willingly gives it to him I was already plotting in my mind all the things that could happen to them on future episodes. How adorable would it be that Raj would meet his soulmate after finding her drone?
The last few seconds of the episode kind of take those hopes down as Cynthia watches footage from the drone and hears Raj talk about his desire to make babies with her.

While it would have been nice to see more of Cynthia, I don’t think that is going to happen. After all, I wouldn’t want to see a guy after hearing him talk things like that about me either, especially since the footage was recorded before Raj even had met Cynthia.
Once Amy and Sheldon’s wedding is out of the picture maybe Raj will finally get the kind of storylines he deserves! Here’s hoping for that.
Stray thoughts:
- I am really loving the chemistry between Sheldon and Amy. I think the writers have done an excellent job in building up their relationship as the narrative heads towards their wedding. The flirtiness, the little arguments that end up in more flirtiness… I honestly never thought I would be invested in a romantic storyline involving Sheldon Cooper, but here we are.
- Raj comes up with a concept for a show that is like Grey’s Anatomy but focuses on people fixing robots rather than on surgeons. He would call in General Botspital. I am so curious I would probably give a show like that a chance.
