On the Big Bang Theory Season 11 Episode 22, “The Monetary Insufficiency,” Sheldon tries to gain money for a science experiment while Amy makes a decision on her wedding dress.

“The Monetary Insufficiency” feels very much like a filler episode ahead of the big season finale. Sheldon’s hunt for money for the experiment probably won’t play a role in the future episodes while the decision Amy makes about her wedding dress will probably carry on to the finale.

I am kind of disappointed, though, that we saw the dress already and hope that there will be some sort of twist to it on the finale.

Sheldon also sees the dress. Though the moment is sweet in itself with Sheldon admiring Amy’s beauty, I was really hoping of seeing Sheldon’s reaction to Amy walking down the aisle in her wedding dress.

The storyline of Sheldon acquiring money for his experiment is entertaining enough but didn’t manage to really catch my interest. Penny and Bernadette’s struggle to tell Amy they don’t like the dress feels kind of pointless — I think it is obvious to everyone that they have very different styles and thus very different preferences when it comes to wedding dresses.

I think the main thing I got out of this episode is the feeling that we are really close to the wedding now. Like I have mentioned several times in my reviews of the previous episodes of this season seeing Sheldon getting married is not something I expected when I started watching The Big Bang Theory years ago.

As Sheldon and Amy’s relationship has developed throughout the show it has been quite clear, though, that a marriage is the direction they are going towards.

From serious dating to living together, Sheldon and Amy have slowly moved towards a point in which they are comfortable with each other.

Though I would not have said no to more creative directions when it comes to their relationship, looking at how Leonard and Penny’s relationship or Howard and Bernadette’s relationship have developed it was quite easy to guess which direction Sheldon and Amy would take.

Images from the finale have been circulating on Instagram and I really cannot wait to see how everything turns out.

Will the wedding bring together some of Amy and Sheldon’s favorite fandoms? What role will Mark Hamill play? How will Sheldon react to the meeting of Mark Hamill? Will it be emotional?

I already know I am going to cry, there is no question about this. Sheldon means so much to me and seeing him having a chance to be with someone with whom he can be himself feels major.
