‘Scandal’ and ‘HTGAWM’ Crossover: 15 Things We Hope to See

The Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder Crossover will air within months. My fellow Shondalanders, it’s happening!

Can you believe it? Peter Nowalk, the genius creator of How To Get Away With Murder, noticed the perfect episode for the current GA13 leader, took it to Rhimes, and the rest is history!

Well, it will be history. I guess we’re getting ahead of ourselves. It’s hard not to when you’ve been waiting for these two shows to crossover since both began airing on ABC.

Since the news broke about the Scandal world colliding with the How to Get Away with Murder world, it’s been impossible not to create a mental list of 3 or 15 things that fans would love to see.

1. Olivia and Annalise Together Forever

Okay. Okay. If not forever then at least throughout the duration of both episodes. In an interview with Deadline, Nowalk claimed that we would see them together for at least one scene. One scene is a tease.

It would be the world’s worst joke if the supporting characters in each cast had more screen time together than Annalise Keating and Olivia Pope.

2. Annalise and Olivia As Competitors (Initially)

I know, this wish is confusing after just wishing for them to be together forever. And of course, I’m completely down for woman harmony.

However, you all can’t say it wouldn’t be completely amazing if Annalise and Olivia were tasked to outmaneuver one another. A little healthy competition never hurt anyone. Actually, Annalise and Olivia both thrive off of competition. Let’s give the ladies (and the audience) what they want!

3. The Keating 4 Working Under Olivia

The Keating 4 have somehow gotten into their heads that people are supposed to be patient with their foolishness and coddle them. I think Olivia would do a nice job shattering those ill-informed beliefs.

One better? I think once Olivia gets a taste of their incompetence and rips them to shreds, they’ll finally put into perspective how amazing Annalise was for dealing with them as long as she did.

4. An Amanda Tanner/Bonnie Backstory

For those who don’t watch both Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder, Liza Weil has played both Bonnie from How to Get Away with Murder and Amanda Tanner from Scandal.

Although you may be thinking that would create plot holes in either character’s backstory, it wouldn’t, especially not in Scandal‘s world of fake deaths and history’s being completely erased to start new lives.

5. Annalise and Olivia Liking Each Other

If Annalise will be on Scandal and Olivia will turn around and appear on How to Get Away with Murder, it’s clear that the ladies at least respect one another. For the healthy competition to flourish, respect must be had.

But after reading this tweet from Jeff Perry, who stars as Cyrus on Scandal, it would make a better episode if they liked each other for more than a reason to flex their mental muscles (because let’s face it, which single person is their current competition?).

Both women actually liking each other enough to get coffee, go shopping, or go crush their presumptuous oppressors together would be…amazing.

6. Laurel’s Dad as the Connecting Link for the Crossover

Although it makes a lot more sense for Olivia to make her appearance on How to Get Away with Murder due to her case against the federal government, it would be much more interesting for her to intervene with Laurel’s Goliath father.

Generally speaking, that storyline is currently the only interesting one so far.

And specifically speaking, Laurel’s father needs to go down in the worst way because he killed Wes. Thereby a plan conceived by the new “bad” Olivia Pope and pissed off Annalise Keating would be the perfect tool to get vengeance done and done well.

7. Olivia and Annalise Switch Roles

There isn’t any particular reason why this makes the wish list. It would just be super funny and interesting if this happened.

Olivia dealing with the Keating 4 and in charge of prosecuting someone in court versus Annalise moving chess pieces on a national scale and conducting the scary, murderous B613.

8. Olivia Meets Michaela

If Olivia can’t meet all of the Keating 4, it would be a huge check off of my list if she could meet Michaela. Their personalities are pretty similar in the way that they both relish in newfound power, and they both have control issues.

It would be incredibly interesting to see them interact with one another. Will they dislike each other because they’re so similar or love each other because they’ve found a similar soul?
