Imperfect Women Premiere Date Announced by Apple TV
Imperfect Women, a psychological thriller starring Elisabeth Moss, Kerry Washington, and Kate Mara, is set to premiere early next year on Apple TV.
The new series was created for TV by showrunner Annie Weisman and is based on Araminta Hall’s novel of the same name. Imperfect Women is described as an “unconventional thriller” that “explores guilt and retribution, love and betrayal, and the compromises we make that irrevocably alter our lives.”
It debuts with a two-episode premiere on Wednesday, March 18. The eight-episode season will unfold with weekly releases through April 29.
The first-look photo shows Elizabeth Moss, Kerry Washington, and Kate Mara in character.
The show will follow how a crime “shatters the lives of three women in a decades-long friendship,” per its description. “As the investigation unravels, so does the truth about how even the closest friendships may not be what they seem.”
Apple TV landed Imperfect Women in March 2024. “I couldn’t be happier that my book has found a home at Apple, home of some of my favorite programs,” Araminta Hall said at the time. Hall executive produces with writer Kay Oyegun.
“And to be working with Elisabeth and Lindsey is a dream. They have an incredible talent for story telling and immediately understood my book in exactly the way I meant it to be read. And then to have Kerry Washington on board is like a bonus on top of a bonus. My book couldn’t be in better hands,” Hall added.
Imperfect Women also stars Joel Kinnaman, Corey Stoll, Leslie Odom Jr., Audrey Zahn, Jill Wagner, Rome Flynn, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Violette Linnz, Indiana Elle, Jackson Kelly, Keith Carradine, Ana Ortiz, and Wilson Bethel.
Moss and Washington also serve as executive producers on the limited series. Moss and executive producer Lindsey McManus originally optioned the book via their production company, Love & Squalor Pictures. Washington executive producers for Simpson Street alongside Pilar Savone.
The show marks Weisman’s latest collaboration with Apple TV after Physical. “I’m honored that Apple is once again trusting me to help bring complex, layered female characters to the screen. Elisabeth, Kerry, and Araminta are the perfect collaborators to bring these Imperfect Women to life,” Weisman said.
Lesli Linka Glatter serves as director and executive producer of the show’s first episode. Imperfect Women is a co-production between 20th Television and Apple Studios.
