Blindspot: Top 5 Moments from ‘City Folks Under Wraps’ (Season 3 Episode 8)
The last few episodes of Blindspot have been so disjointed that it is a relief to have one episode that clearly ties a few threads together and introduces a new “big bad” for season 3.
Blindspot Season 3 Episode 8, “City Folks Under Wraps,” is exactly what we have come to love about this show. It blends humor and intrigue while eating plot for action sequences.
Here are our five top moments from Blindspot Season 3 Episode 8 “City Folks Under Wraps.”
1. Hirst Frames Patterson

Seeing Patterson on the run feels unnatural and at the same time a nice change of pace. If there was ever anyone you would expect not to commit a felony, it’s Patterson.
She’s a pretty standup agent. If the writer’s had played this any other way, and say attempted to frame Jane, it would have been stale and tired.
This way, Patterson gets to be a part of the action and even needs to lean on Rich for help getting out of the building. The disguise is especially genius, and the Rich and Patterson banter is a nice additional touch.
2. Rich DotCom Turns Down “Absolute Freedom”
When Rich was introduced as an FBI Consultant in Blindspot Season 3 Episode 1 “Back to the Grind,” I didn’t immediately buy into the new leaf he’d turned over. As the season’s progressed, I’ve been waiting for the other shoe to drop and for him to betray the team.
When Hirst gives him the chance to sell out Patterson and earn his freedom with time served the moment plays out with an “Okay, I expected this” vibe. What we do not expect is for him to write “Suck it!” where his signature could be.
In the back of my mind, I’ve been wondering if Rich DotCom has deep feelings for Patterson buried under his jokes and sarcasm. Signs are pointing to yes.
3. Roman and Blake Reach RomCom Status

Finally, we have an answer as to why Roman was so interested in Blake. Their storyline seems like such a Hallmark, or maybe a Lifetime, movie that I was wondering exactly what it had to do with the rest of the threads Blindspot was weaving for us.
This Bodyguard-esque plotline still seems too disjointed when it comes to the tone of the show, but I can’t help but find myself rooting for them at the same time.
4. Zapata Lets Her Feelings for Reade Show
The Zapata/Reade tension has always been strong, but this is the first time anyone outside of the audience has picked up on it. Seeing Patterson pick up on Zapata’s concern for Reade adorable but inconvenient because Reade has a girlfriend.
Honestly, it feels natural to pull for them, but they still have issues to work out, so I am hoping that the writers drag this out for a few more episodes. Only because I would hate to see everyone on the team paired off so quickly.
5. Weller’s Confession

There’s been a fair amount of back and forth on Jane’s part about if she wanted to look for her daughter. Kurt’s reaction along the way just gave me the feeling like he knew more than he was letting on.
Kurt’s confession that he killed her daughter isn’t exactly something that I can’t say I didn’t see coming, but the way it plays out is unexpected. Given that the episode ends with that confession and Jane’s shock, we still don’t know the whole story, and the role Kurt played in her death.
But do we really expect this to play out well for Kurt and Jane’s relationship?
