Romance is timeless, and watching our favorite characters fall in love with each other never gets old.

This year on television we saw couples get engaged, grow in love, fall apart, and find each other again. Our favorite couples ran the gamut in 2017, from new love to life long commitment and everything in between.

Here’s a look at our favorite TV couples from 2017, in no particular order.

1. Marcus Kane and Abby Griffin (The 100)

the 100 season 4 episode 2

Despite spending the majority of the season separated from each other, Kane and Abby’s love continues to be one of the strongest bonds on The 100.

In The 100 Season 4 they finally got the chance to take a moment for themselves, before the end of the world started rushing towards them again.

While they were bound to their duties for their people, their love for each other was a consistent thread throughout the season culminating in Abby finally telling Kane she loves him, and him reciprocating that love by saving her life.

We can’t wait to see how their relationship has grown in the six-year time jump.

2. FP Jones and Alice Cooper (Riverdale)

This relationship may have just entered the game in the last few weeks of 2017, but Alice and FP have had something going on for much longer.

The revelation that Alice and FP were romantically involved in their past has Riverdale viewers dying to know what happened between them. And if they’ll be rekindling that romance in the near future.

Alice: I won’t have our kids make the same mistakes we did.

FP: They weren’t all mistakes.

3. Charles and Liza (Younger)

We can’t get enough of these victims of unsynchronized passion. Ever since that steamy kiss on Younger Season 1, we have been dying to see these two get together.

This year Charles and Liza finally confessed their feelings for each other.

Jay: Oh my God, you’re in love with Charles.

Liza: I am. I do love him, I know that I shouldn’t, but I do. And you’re so nice. You’re so nice and I’m so sorry.

But the course of true love never did run smooth.

They’ve still got their fair share of obstacles keeping them from their happily ever after. In the meantime we’re just delighted to see this slow burn finally heat up.

4. Waverly Earp and Nicole Haught (Wynonna Earp)

Waverly and Nicole went through a lot this year, from near death experiences, to near break-ups, Wynonna Earp Season 2 was a little rough for Wayhaught.

But we also learned that these two would choose each other in any universe.

No matter what comes between them, at the end of the day, Waverly and Nicole’s love for each other is stronger than anything the world (supernatural or otherwise) has to throw at them.

Nicole: I have never loved anyone the way that I love you.

5. Claire and Jamie (Outlander)

If Outlander has taught us anything this year, it’s that Claire and Jamie truly are soul mates.

Time and space are incapable of keeping these two apart. After a 20 year separation in different times, Claire and Jamie still manage to find their way back to each other.

The time apart has turned them into new people, but their love for each other is as strong as ever. We can’t wait to see what adventures await them in the New World.

6. Maggie and Alex (Supergirl)

This pairing is a little bittersweet this time around, but Alex and Maggie still left their mark on our hearts in 2017. Though their relationship ended, Sanvers showed us that it’s okay to be yourself and love who you love.

Alex: I didn’t know I had it in me to be happy, or to be accepting of myself. I never would have gotten here without you.

Maggie: You made me deal with my own stuff. Confronted my past. Stopped covering up the things I didn’t want to look at. I’m strong, I’m stronger for it, you know. I’m really grateful, thank you.

Maggie and Alex certainly changed each other for the better, and who knows, maybe one day they’ll find their way back to each other.
