All hail Julie Klausner, creator of the best comedy of the last few years. Klausner and Billy Eichner play best friends navigating their comedy careers while living in New York. The show was sharp, witty and fun. It was like Seinfeld and Will & Grace had a baby — only better.

14. Switched At Birth

After 5 seasons the groundbreaking show, Switched at Birth, went off the air in April of this year. It was a bittersweet end for the loyal fans. While the show was great most of the time, it was starting to lose its spark by the end.

The best part about this show was its inclusion of the deaf community as a mainstay in the cast. It was a first for any primetime show. It was the opening of their world to those who had never experienced it.

It is great that this show ended on the great note that it did instead of dragging it out a few more years and having it lose it’s beauty altogether.

15. Bones

After twelve memorable seasons, Bones gave fans a satisfying end to the series this year. In addition to bringing back a fan favorite character, Zack, it provided closure for many characters and opened the door to new journeys.

No doubt about it, we already miss seeing Booth, Brennan, and the rest of the team solve crimes together. At least we can always go back and re-watch the best episodes of the series over and over.

16. Dark Matter

Dark Matter had everything we love in a Sci-Fi show — a great cast, incredible writing, diverse characters and strong females. Unfortunately, despite showrunner Joseph Mallozzi’s plan for five seasons, the Season 3 finale became the show’s final episode.

Sadly, it ended without ever tying up some of the show’s loose ends including who Kryden was and how he came to be in charge of Two and Shaw’s daughter, and how Sarah, Shaw, and Victor were going to have a big impact in the android revolution.

17. The Carmichael Show

The Carmichael Show

Viewers found out that The Carmichael Show would not be renewed after news leaked that series star, Jerrod Carmichael, would be leaving to pursue other projects.  It’s a shame to lose a family comedy as smart and funny as this one, but it will be exciting to see where the extraordinary cast — including 2017’s comedy It-Girl Tiffany Haddish — end up.
