17 Beloved TV Shows That Ended in 2017
7. The Mindy Project

The Mindy Project was canceled for the second time in 2017. After running on Fox, for three seasons, the romantic comedy was resurrected by Hulu for three more.
The show, starring Mindy Kaling as a romantically frustrated OBGYN underwent some significant recasting following a spotty first season but really hit its stride once it played into the chemistry between Kaling’s Mindy Lahiri and Chris Messina’s Danny Castellano.
8. Orphan Black

Orphan Black was not a perfect show, but it was blessed with perfect casting. The BBC drama followed Sarah Manning’s realizes that she is a clone with several genetic matches.
For five seasons, Tatiana Maslany managed to play Sarah and 10 other distinctly different characters — both male and female. For a show that was often very dark, it closed out on a mostly happy note, showing the birth of Helena’s twins and their baby shower. The clones finally found a way to live a relatively normal life as ‘sestras.’
9. Pretty Little Liars

SASHA PIETERSE, LUCY HALE, ASHLEY BENSON, SHAY MITCHELL, TROIAN BELLISARIO
For seven seasons, Hanna, Aria, Emily and Spencer worked to discover the identity of their mysterious tormenter, A, following the death of their friend Alison.
After spending the better part of a decade waiting to learn the identity of the person threatening to spill the girl’s secrets, many viewers were disappointed to find out that A was a new character with a weak backstory and motives.
10. The Vampire Diaries

From 2009 to 2017, The Vampire Diaries showed the Salvatore brothers trying to survive in Mystic Falls despite their complicated relationship and shared interest in women who look like Nina Dobrev. The vampire drama not only survived eight seasons and the loss of its leading lady but also managed to spawn a successful spinoff.
11. Teen Wolf

Teen Wolf, or “The Show That Could” as the fans affectionately call it, ended its six season run in September. While the show itself was about a teenage werewolf protecting his town from an array of supernatural beings there was much more to it than that.
For the fans, this show was a place where they could belong no matter their age, gender, orientation, or nationality. The show became a family and despite its on air end, Teen Wolf will live on forever in the hearts of many it welcomed with open arms.
12. Sweet/Vicious

MTV had an underrated gem on their hands with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson’s incredibly witty and full-of-heart show, Sweet/Vicious. Its subject matter was daring and like nothing else on TV. It followed heroes Jules and Ophelia, with the two acting as vigilantes, punishing rapists on their college campus.
It’s amazing how attached to the show’s characters fans got after only ten episodes. Unfortunately, MTV chose not to renew the series for a second season, despite massive fan outcry. Still, many are dedicated to saving the series — because nowadays, it’s more needed than ever. #SaveSweetVicious.
