American Horror Story: Cult Review: Mid-Western Assassin (Season 7 Episode 6)
Love has its way of blinding people from the truth on American Horror Story: Cult Season 7 Episode 6, “Mid-Western Assassin.”
So many revelations on “Mid-Western Assassin,” but the most shocking has to be Meadow truly falling in love with Kai. Kai has never loved Meadow, and it’s so sad seeing her believe him.
Yeah, Meadow has done some messed up shizz. But, she only joined because her best friend basically made her. And after making Meadow join in on this psychotic mumbo jumbo, Harrison decides just to kill her off.
F*** Harrison, seriously.

I do have to give it to Meadow, though. She knew just how to play Ally and how to get her to do what she wanted. I’m still a little confused on if Rudy is actually working with Kai and the others or if he’s just his brother.
I think it’s a tad bit weird that Rudy is calling Ally the moment she hangs up on Ivy. I figure if he is helping them his only association is pushing her to admit that she’s crazy. Too much on the line, for him to be running around in a clown suit murdering people.
The look on Kai’s face as Sally stands up and outshines him in front of everyone at the town hall meeting is my everything. It’s one of my favorite scenes from this season so far.
“This is the kind of sh** that happens when patriarchy is threatened.” Yes, Sally. Spill that tea.

I genuinely liked Sally, and I’m sad that she only had the chance to be in this one episode. A woman who doesn’t fear Kai and is ready to stand up to him in front of everyone? Sign me the heck up.
I’m beyond relieved that Ally now knows the entire truth about the cult. She may have her phobias, but Ally isn’t a someone who needs to be committing herself, as her therapist suggests.
The moment the clowns show up in Sally’s house Ally completely dips, and I love it because that is the same reaction I would have. Like, come on, Sally I just told you about the cult get your behind up and get moving. I wouldn’t wait when killer clowns are coming for me. Nope, not today.

Ivy has the perfect chance to take Ally out and end everything, but she doesn’t take it, of course. She doesn’t want to put Oz through it but what about Ally? Oh, that’s right she had your child, and suddenly you hate her.
It makes sense now that Oz is made to look exactly like Ivy. She’s jealous because for the first three years of Oz’s life he and Ally were attached at the hip and she didn’t feel like a mother. Now he doesn’t need Ally to feed him so here’s where Ivy swoops in to take her reign.
I’m very curious to see how Ally is going to get out of being accused of a mass shooting on next week’s episode.
Other Thoughts:
- I’m shocked that this episode wasn’t postponed with the recent shootings.
- So far I’m not impressed with Colton’s character. He’s basically there to keep Harrison occupied.
- It’s very shocking that Ally is Oz’s birth mother. I bet he’d think differently about Ally if he knew the truth.
- Meadow is the one who made Kai rock the man-bun so shout out to her!
