20 Favorite Halloween TV Episodes to Watch Again
Halloween is a time for trick or treating, costumes, and for TV shows to gift us with brilliant, hilarious, and memorable specials that define their shows and last the test of time.
Here are 20 favorite Halloween TV episodes to watch again this holiday!
1. Community Season 2 Episode 6: Epidemiology
Only in Greendale could taco meat transform its students into a zombie horde.
Memorable moments from this Community Halloween episode include Jeff texting as a zombie, Britta revealing a bite before going slow-motion, and Annie being pulled through a glass window after Chang threw his skate through it.
And when Chang started yelling, “Ya, bit!” I knew that this episode would be forever seared in my mind.
2. Parks and Recreation Season 2 Episode 7: Greg Pikitis
The evil turd that is Greg Pikitis continues to prank Leslie Knope and the Parks and Recreation department year after year. Finally, on Parks and Recreation Season 2 Episode 7, she has enough and goes to great lengths to catch the Joker.
Stakeouts, spray paint, and gif-worthy angry Knope faces all occur in her mission to hunt Pikitis down.
3. Pretty Little Liars Season 3 Episode 13: This is a Dark Ride

All you need to know about this Halloween episode from Pretty Little Liars is that the Liars and Adam Lambert come together as one. Adam is a beautiful Victorian-style vampire who serenades all those around him.
Oh yeah, and there’s murder and stuff on the party train they’re all on. But Adam, that’s the real focus here, people.
4. Parks and Recreation Season 4 Episode 5: Meet N Greet

Parks and Recreation has so many good Halloween episodes that I couldn’t just pick one. Parks and Recreation Season 4 Episode 5 is especially close to my heart because this is the first time Ben connects with his new roommates, April and Andy.
It’s also one of the first times we see Ben let loose and not be so tightly wound up. These people were his friends, and he now knew it.
5. Supernatural Season 4 Episode 7: It’s the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester

Nothing stops Dean Winchester from enjoying his candy in this Halloween special. Not even hex bags, Samhain being raised for the dead, or Pretty Little Liars star Ashley Benson sacrificing people.
Supernatural Season 4 Episode 7 is also special because it’s the first time Sam meets Castiel and they start on the road to being family.
6. The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 5: Monster’s Ball

College costume balls, Silas, and lying & manipulating bastards turn a night on its head on The Vampire Diaries. Season 5 Episode 5, “Monster’s Ball.”
This episode was a significant opportunity to see Paul Wesley play evil without falling back on the ‘I can’t control my blood lust’ trope. Plus, seeing Elena dressed as Anne Boleyn was well worth it.
7. Charmed Season 3 Episode 4: All Halliwell’s Eve

The original Charmed ones are blasted to the past to save a child from falling into the hands of evil. We got to see Piper, Prue, and Phoebe don some ridiculous costumes before trading them for skirts, cloaks, and corseted tops.
It was an interesting and insightful take on their history and the witches that came before them.
8. Friends Season 8 Episode 6: The One With the Halloween Party

Sputnik fights a bunny, Monica looks amazing as Cat Woman, and Rachel’s mothering skills are tested in a memorable episode of Friends. And years later, I’m still with Chandler about the bunny costume. When it comes to bunny or no bunny at all, you go for no bunny!
9. Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 2 Episode 6: Halloween
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 2 Episode 6, “Halloween,” was the first time I fell in love with this show.
They were willing to take risks, deviate from the norm, and make fun of themselves while telling a spooky Halloween tale we’d all thought about once or twice.
10. Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 5 Episode 4: HalloVeen

*SPOILER ALERT* Every year Brooklyn Nine-Nine has a heist. It’s an elaborate day that brings the team together and crowns someone on the show as the best.
On Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 5 Episode 4, “Halloveen,” things took a turn for the romantic when Jake proposed to Amy. And I know it just aired. But this moment here earns it a spot in our favorite Halloween episodes.
11-12. Bones and Sleepy Hollow Crossover: The Resurrection in the Remains (Season 11 Episode 5) and Dead Men Tell No Tales (Season 3 Episode 5)
Two worlds collide on this epic crossover between Bones and Sleepy Hollow. Oddly enough, the story and the world they created in these two episodes worked.
It felt like really well-written fan fiction come to life where these two distinct teams met each other’s needs and take the characters in unexpected directions.
13-15. Scream Queens: “Haunted House,” “Pumpkin Patch,” and “Seven Minutes in Hell” (Season 1 Episode 4, 5, 6)

This MTV series lived up to its name with a three-part episode dedicated to slaying, costumes, and, you guessed it, screams. The Red Devil kept going after our Queens while looking fabulous at every turn. Some made it out of this three-parter safe and others lost got nailed… literally.
16. Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 4 Episode 4: Fear, Itself
The same person who stirred the pot on Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 2 Episode 6, “Halloween” is back to cause trouble on “Fear, Itself.”
Each of the Scoobies experiences manifestations of what they fear most and work on getting past them. And when the Dark Lord of nightmares that has been plaguing them finally appears, they finally realize that they have nothing to fear but fear, itself.
17. Bobs Burgers: Season 6 Episode 3: Hauntening

Louise is one of the toughest people you’ll ever meet. (Well, she’s a cartoon so you’ll never meet her. But you know what I’m saying.) That means it takes a lot for her to be scared.
It shows how much her family loves her, and they set up this elaborate prank to frighten her. For some, it might be a weird kind of love, but that works for Louise and the Belchers.
18. American Horror Story: Hotel Season 5 Episode 4: Devil’s Night

FX transforms some of our favorite characters into famous killers out for a little fun on the only day they can cross over into our world. American Horror Story didn’t hold back, not that it usually does, and let Evan Peters and Lily Rabe try their hand at the prim, the proper, the ugly, and the monstrous.
19. Modern Family Season 4 Episode 5: Open House of Horrors

You gotta give it to the cast of Modern Family and their ability to turn the horrifying into hilarious moments that you wouldn’t mind doing.
Also, it makes you wonder if you’ll ever reach a point in your life where your sole shining moment of the day is trying to scare the hell out of your loved ones, like on Modern Family Season 4 Episode 5. Classic.
20. The Office Season 9 Episode 5: Here Comes Treble
The Office Season 9 Episode 5, “Here Comes Treble” is memorable largely because of Dwight’s pumpkin head. Years later, I still wonder how long it would actually take for a pumpkin to molt off your head.
Also, I’m still 100% sure that I would watch the entire show with this version of Halloween pumpkin Dwight. Wouldn’t you?
