Teen Wolf Series Finale Review: The Wolves of War (Season 6 Episode 20)
Endings are often bittersweet. You think about what could have been more than what actually happens. And if you’re not careful, you’ll miss out on the whole point of it all, that the story never ends, and that there is another fight just waiting on the horizon.
This is what happens on the Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 20 series finale, “The Wolves of War.”
Scott and his pack manage to destroy the evil, disarm the town, and face their greatest fears in one episode. To say it feels rushed is an understatement, and we have to be easy on the show lest we be terribly disappointed.
Monroe runs off into the night to continue causing havoc and Gerard never has his grand stand-off with Scott McCall that’s been building all of 6B. He ends up being torn apart by the creature he made with his hate and prejudice.
Before we move on to anything else let’s talk about the creature known as Kate Argent. She deserves to die. The fact that she doesn’t is the greatest disservice of 6B. It makes absolutely no sense to bring back someone who destroyed Derek’s life only to have her live another day.

Derek Hale deserves better. He shouldn’t have to be looking over his shoulder, waiting for her to muck up his life again. But per usual, the victim will always be at the mercy of his abuser, because this show doesn’t really think it’s a big deal or as disgusting as the viewers know it is.
The fears that the McCall Pack face in the series finale are a mixed bag. Scott fears his friends turning their backs on him and transforming into creatures that steal their faces (the Nogitsune) or kill his first love (Allison.) That’s real fear, and Scott fights against it and wins.
The fear that Derek faces makes no sense. Jennifer abused him and took advantage of his kindness. But Teen Wolf makes it seem like he was in love with her and missed the touch of her body or some nonsense.
The show continues to prove that they don’t know how to deal with sexual assault and abuse victims.
On a more positive note, and to stop myself from spiraling on the things that really didn’t work, it’s really nice to see all of them coming together as a family and as a pack to save the day.
Theo finally manages to open himself up and care for someone else’s pain. Melissa saves the hospital even after being gravely injured. And Stiles and Derek return to help their family, no matter the painful memories that they hold of Beacon Hills.

Teen Wolf is a story of growth, resilience, and finding your family. This group of people will never be separated, no matter the distance or the time that passes. They have each others back and that makes me a bit less worried about the fight that continues for them long after the screen goes black.
This show wasn’t perfect. (Nothing really is.) But it introduced us to a group of people we’ll never forget and that have become our own pack. We’ve become a community, a family, that will follow these actors into whatever they do next.
Yes, endings are bittersweet and we often remember the bad more than the good.
And as Teen Wolf comes to a close, we have to make sure that we hold onto why we started watching this show and what kept us here. Let’s not let the what-ifs ruin what is a part of our lives and what has left an impression of love, perseverance, and pack in our hearts.
Remember Teen Wolf.

I wish the final was longer and had at least one Stydia scene. There wasn’t even a sciles scene, I mean Scott hugged Derek but not Stiles!!!!!!! Everything felt so rushed and there wasn’t enough time invested in the ending. The final felt more like a Pilot for the reboot Jeff Davis is talking about. They squeezed in a lot and they focused too much on the plot instead of the characters happy endings. It was so short, that there weren’t really any emotions coming through. Especially with Ducalions death, did they just leave his body there to rott?! To be honest I think it was the worst episode of the entire series, Teen Wolf deserved so much better. I’m really disappointed, especially because I had such high hopes for the characters endings (especially Stydia!!!!!!). It really was the absolute worst series final of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
although teenwolf is not perfect which nothing in the world is but is great and better than many other tv series
ummm what did I just read??!!! what sexual assault took place on this show?? Derek WAS in love with Jennifer & she DID have feelings for him, did she take advantage of him yes but she did have feelings for him which she admitted. There was NO sexual assault, NO abuse…same with Kate, when they were younger they were in love…Peter said that, that Derek met Kate & fell for her after everything went down with his first love….did she turn out to be a psychotic killer yea she did but once again there was NO sexual assault that took place…..I don’t even know where you would get something like that, did we watch 2 completely different shows??!!!
