Wynonna Earp Review: Gone as a Girl Can Get (Season 2 Episode 11)
On Wynonna Earp Season 2 Episode 11, “Gone as a Girl Can Get,” a world without Wynonna is a very different place, and it’s fun exploring all of the differences.
As far as filler episodes go, this one is pretty amazing. It provides us a reprieve from the doom and gloom that comes with widows trying to raise their demon husband.
We witness different incarnations of our favorite characters, allowing us to see just how much Wynonna has affected their lives. Wynonna put Doc on a better path, she brought friends together, and she helped Waverly really come into who she is.
Nicole was in love with Waverly even before she met Wynonna, so it makes sense that Nicole still has heart eyes for Waverly in this new reality. It’s also really sweet that Nicole and Waverly will always find one another, no matter what world they are in. Can you say soulmates?
Waverly: Have you ever met someone and instantly known in your heart that they meant something to you?
Nicole: I might kind of get that, yeah.
There’s also the added plus that this is the hour brings Bobo back to Purgatory, back to his angel, and back to doing what he does best and looking after himself.

We’ve never seen a revenant who very recently came back from hell, so it’s interesting to witness how disoriented Bobo is. He has moments where he is his old, badass self, but for the most part, he’s fragile. Hell broke him, and it’s going to take him a little bit of time to recover.
Seeing as how he just popped back from hell, it’s only logical that he would want to make sure he never went back there again. If that means making a deal with demon Clootie, then that’s what Bobo is going to do. You really can’t fault the guy for wanting to avoid endless torture in hell.
Dolls: It felt empty, like he was my friend.
Still, this is very much a filler episode.
Right when the battle heats up, we’re torn away and placed in this alternate reality. It would have been so much better if this happened in any other spot during the season.
This jump weakens the build up to the finale. We go from being amped up for the final showdown on Wynonna Earp Season 2 Episode 10 to losing that momentum in this alternate dimension.

Sure, we gain a smidgen of that momentum back in the final moment, but it’s almost too little too late. What are your thoughts? Do you like the placement of this alternate reality episode or do you think it would have been better if it aired earlier this season?
Bobo: She’s funny. You should keep her.
