The Bachelorette Recap: Goodbye x5 (Season 13 Episode 6)
Part 2 of this week’s two-night The Bachelorette event wastes no time picking back up where it left off the night before. Kenny is still maniacally laughing, but this time rather than stalk away from the cameras, he marches right up to Lee.
He has little to say, outside of a string of (what we can only assume are) insults that have been almost entirely bleeped out — whether for actual inappropriate language or dramatic effect, we’ll never know.
Rachel quickly interrupts, rose in hand, and tells Lee that she cannot trust him and thus cannot keep him around. Of course, he gets in one last tattle tale, telling Rachel that Kenny was “aggressive” toward him just minutes before.
Rachel, thankfully, is having none of it, and she still takes Kenny with her so that they can continue their date together before she decides whether to hand out her rose. That is, until Kenny turns back so that he can say goodbye to Lee before they go.

By “say goodbye”, he means “tell off”, and as Rachel watches him from her seat in their awaiting helicopter, she is clearly displeased.
Kenny’s Comeback
At the start of their private evening together, Rachel confronts Kenny about his decision to address Lee again. Luckily, Kenny is able to redeem himself by assuring her that he is honest and genuine and here to fall in love, regardless of the frustrations that may have overcome him.
Rachel likes what she’s hearing, and she tells Kenny that she sees all of these positive qualities in him. With that, she offers him the date rose after all, and they say their goodnights.
After leaving Rachel’s room, Kenny is given the opportunity to FaceTime with his daughter at home. As she gleefully tells him “if you like her, you like her”, he breaks down crying. Kenny’s emotional outburst is beyond precious (and something we rarely saw from past contestants with children). Hopefully Rachel sees — and loves — this sweet and sensitive side of Kenny soon, too.
Goodbye, Guys
It’s already time for another rose ceremony, and the preceding cocktail party is skipped again! Finally, a bachelorette who knows what — and who — she wants.

RACHEL LINDSAY
Just after Josiah obnoxiously tells the cameras that if Rachel doesn’t give him a rose there is “something wrong with her brain”, he is sent home — along with Anthony. Good riddance, Josiah. Anthony, we hardly knew ye.
Hello, Denmark
With three more eliminations behind them, Rach and the boys are off to Denmark, which she claims is the perfect place for “storybook romance.”
First to get a date card is Eric, who has been publicly gunning for a one-on-one since night one. He greets her with a dance of sorts and the declaration: “swag, swag, swag”, which Rachel somehow finds endearing rather that bizarre.
They have a fun day together, exploring the city and enjoying a local carnival. Rachel is certainly relaxed with Eric, exuding a youthful energy she doesn’t seem to have around contestants like Peter and Bryan.

RACHEL LINDSAY, ERIC
At the end of the night, Rachel asks Eric to accept her rose. He responds, unsurprisingly, by shouting “YES” at the top of his lungs, and they celebrate with one last roller coaster ride together before saying goodnight.
Looks like these two crazy kids could actually go the distance.
A Viking Victory
This week’s group date is all about vikings, as the guys are challenged to one-on-one sward fighting. Judging by this season’s group dates thus far, Rachel is apparently into watching her men compete. Has there yet been a group date that didn’t involve some sort of contest?

MATTHEW, PETER, DEAN, RACHEL LINDSAY, ALEX, KENNY, ADAM
This time, it all comes down to Kenny and Adam. As they fight it out, both men’s swords break, and they ultimately put on a show of awkwardly shoving shields in each other’s faces. Though Kenny comes out the winner, both guys are left with blood dripping down their brows. Guess it’s true what they say: love hurts.

PETER, MATTHEW, ALEX, KENNY, RACHEL LINDSAY, ADAM, BRYAN, DEAN
Later in the evening, Rachel and Kenny sit down for a heart-to-heart and discuss his daughter and how much he’s been missing her. Though they both have the utmost respect and appreciation for one another, she and Kenny come to the mutual decision that he should go home to be with his child.
Given some of the men still remaining, this elimination comes as a shock. Guys like Adam and Matt (who?) have somehow stuck around, while the season’s biggest personalities are steadily saying their goodbyes.
After letting the group know what went down between her and Kenny, Rachel gives Peter her rose — for the thousandth time?? — and the group date comes to an end.
WILL They or Won’t They?
Will gets invited on the week’s final one-on-one, and he and Rachel jet off to Sweden for a day of exploring.
Unfortunately, Rachel can’t seem to give Will a fair chance. From the very start of their day together, she appears stiff and unhappy. She expresses her disappointment that Will isn’t diving into the romantic setting, but the same can honestly be said for her.
Based on her previous successful dates, Rachel’s love language is physical. And when Will tells her that he, too, is a physically intimate person, she comes to the conclusion that something is just not right between them.
She explains to him that, though they’ve clearly built a friendship together, she doesn’t feel like she can give him a rose after the way their date went.
Will — the lovely person that he is — only apologizes to Rachel for focusing too much on building a friendship rather than a romantic relationship. But sadly, his “I’m sorry” is not enough to change Rachel’s mind.
Goodbye, Will. Your adorable, charming self will surely be missed as the season continues. And someday soon, a lucky girl will give you more than just one date to prove you can be as touchy-feely as you are intelligent and kind.

Rose Ceremony 2
With five men down, it’s already time for the second rose ceremony of the episode, and Rachel doles out another shocking elimination when she sends home Alex in favor of Matt and Adam. I’m sorry, but what??
And then there were six.
Next week’s promo shows Rachel breaking down… What — or who — do you think is the cause of her tears? Share your theories in the comments and tune in to The Bachelorette next Monday at 8/7c on ABC.
