14+ Hallmark Movies To Watch This Summer

Lists, TV Movies

Are you looking for short and sweet movies to put yourself on summer spirit? If your answer is yes, look no further!

The Hallmark Channel loves to curate its content seasonally, which is why the summer 2017 schedule is packed with summer-themed romances.

As I pointed out in our post about some of the best Made For TV Holiday Movies of the 2016-2017 holiday season, TV movies provide nice, comfortable escapes by showing the sweeter side of life. Instead of Christmas trees and snowy holiday romances, the summer season on Hallmark Channel is all about weddings, picturesque small towns, first loves, and second chances.

And if you happen to be obsessed with Christmas, like me, there’s a little surprise for you at the end of this list. Yes, I am talking about Christmas in July!

So, let’s get to the films. Here’s a list of 14+ movies from the Hallmark Channel schedule that I will be watching and/or rewatching in the upcoming weeks. If you are a fan of cheesy romances, dashing heroes, and charming small town settings, you should definitely join in the fun!

I’m including the airing times, so set up your DVRs and be ready to binge on some romantic Hallmark movies. Please note that all the airing times are informed according to the Eastern time zone.

1. The Perfect Bride (Saturday June 24th, 3 PM)

Molly (Pascale Hutton) runs a popular bridal boot camp. At the wedding of an old camp client, she meets Nick (Kavan Smith). She feels an instant connection to Nick, but things get complicated when she realizes that he is the husband-to-be of one of her bridal camp attendees.

Think Jennifer Lopez’s The Wedding Planner, but with a bridal boot camp activities instead of wedding planning.

2. The Perfect Catch (Sunday, June 25th at 11 AM & Sunday, July 2nd at 7 PM)

YouTube video

Jessica (Nikki Deloach) is trying to juggle between her job at a diner and her duties as a single mother. Chase (Andrew Walker) is a baseball star questioning his next career move. When Chase goes back home to think about his career, he runs into his high school sweetheart Jessica and realizes that what he has been looking for might actually be found from the place he once was desperate to leave behind.

If you love sports romances, this one is definitely for you! I am a big sports fan and absolutely adored The Perfect Catch. Andrew Walker is also, without a doubt, one of my favorite Hallmark stars.

3. Summer Love (Sunday, June 25th at 3 PM)

Summer Love

When her daughter ships off to a summer camp, Maya (Rachael Leigh Cook) starts an internship with a tech company. While working for some much-needed college credits, she forms relationships with two different executives. In addition to gaining valuable work experience, Maya learns about the importance of teamwork…and love.

I have liked Rachael Leigh Cook ever since I first saw She’s All That which is why I am willing to watch anything she stars in. I also tend to enjoy following a romantic storyline in which the woman has to make a decision between two men who both have different things to offer.

4. The Art of Us (Sunday, June 25th at 5 PM & Saturday, July 8th at 9 PM)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzAiPgBUJPM

Harper (Taylor Cole) has tried to forget her dream of becoming an artist in order to get further with her career as an art history professor. When her original plans for an art exhibition at the university fail, she is in desperate need to find a new artist to feature. When she sees the paintings of her new dog walker Tom, she makes up a little lie about Tom’s ancestry in order to get him the exhibition spot.

Taylor Cole is charming, but really the real MVP of this one is Harper’s dog Vincent.

5. Chance at Romance (Saturday, July 1st at 11 AM)
CHANCE AT ROMANCE - Samantha Hart (Sam) is delighted when her online "Chance at Romance" to photographer Heath Madsen eventually results in Heath sending her a first class ticket to visit. Upon arriving for what she expects to be a romantic weekend, however, she learns her online relationship with the widowed photographer was actually fueled by Heath's matchmaking son and their longtime housekeeper. When Sam is unable to end her trip due to circumstances outside her control, her non-relationship with Heath has the chance to evolve into a friendship-and possibly more. Samantha (Erin Krakow) forms a liking to the photos of a photographer called Heath Madsen. She tries to contact Heath via email to express her appreciation of his work and after some exchanging of messages gets invited to stay at his place.

When she gets there, she realizes that she has not been exchanging emails with Heath, but with his young son. While embarrassed Samantha tries to go back home, fate intervenes and shows that maybe Samantha is exactly where she is supposed to be.

6. Surprised by Love (Saturday, July 1st at 3 PM)

YouTube video

Josie (Hilarie Burton), a successful businesswoman climbing the corporate ladder invites a sort of slacker-ish former high school crush Maxwell (Paul Campbell) to a party hosted by her parents. Her goal: to show her disapproving parents that in comparison to Maxwell, her boyfriend Richard is perfect. Obviously, things don’t go as planned and Josie starts to feel things for Maxwell she never expected to feel again.

Hilarie Burton (One Tree Hill) is extremely charming and definitely has chemistry with Paul Campbell (who happens to star in one of my favorite Hallmark Christmas movies, Window Wonderland).
