Dancing with the Stars Recap: The Finals! (Season 24 Episode 10)

Dancing with the Stars, Recaps

After an unpredictable season with some of the most shocking eliminations we’ve ever seen, it’s anyone’s game.

Dancing with the Stars Season 24 Episode 10 begins the finals by having the final three couples perform a redemption dance as well as the beloved freestyle.

David and Lindsay began the night with their redemption dance — the Viennese Waltz, earning a score of 33. For David, this dance was a continued improvement, and though it wasn’t perfect, it was still nice to watch.

The judges also made the point to note why David is in the finals. He may not be the best dancer technically, but he’s worked SO hard, and that’s something people have responded to, along with his overall likability.

Unsurprisingly, Normani and Val’s redemption dance, a Quickstep, was a showstopper. It was fun and energetic, and it earned a score of 38.

The favorite of the redemption dances, though, was from Rashad and Emma.

They also did a Viennese Waltz for their redemption dance, and it earned a perfect score, including their first 10 from Len, who said, “Rashad, I saw improvement in every level of that dance.”

Each of the couples then performed their second dance of the night — the freestyle.

David and Lindsay pulled out all the stops with their fun, baseball-themed freestyle, and Carrie Ann said it was his personal best. They even earned a perfect score of 40!

Normani and Val took a more traditional — and incredibly beautiful — approach to their freestyle, though they did include two pretty adorable guests into their routine. This one brought tears to Val’s eyes.

Bruno said, “It was like watching angels dancing.” They also earned a score of 40.

If anyone had fun with their freestyle routine, it was Rashad and Emma. It was energetic, creative, and just a lot of fun to watch. Rashad clearly enjoyed the dance — you could see the joy on his face.

And according to Julianne, this one is one for the books! “There are so many iconic freestyles, and that is going in the book as one of them,” she said.
