Dancing with the Stars Recap: Most Memorable Year (Season 24 Episode 4)
It’s Most Memorable Year Night on Dancing with the Stars Season 24 Episode 4, where your life story is almost as important as your dancing! The stars all share personal stories before trying to impress on the dance floor.
Keep reading for the most memorable year and the results of the dances.
Normani and Val: Normani’s most memorable year was when she joined Fifth Harmony. Nomani took the stage to do her rumba with Val as Fifth Harmony singing “Impossible.”
While the dance was good, it didn’t have a lot of rumba content. Carrie Ann deducted for a lift and Len wanted more content. With the judges being so consistent on these aspects you’d think that the pro dancers would learn. This dance was good but Normani will not be the best of the night.
Score: 32/40
Nick and Peta: Somehow, Nick’s most memorable year was when he found love on The Bachelor. It’s hard to take him too seriously as he talked about finding love on TV.
He danced a rumba to “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran and even included Vanessa, his fiancé, at the end. Nick finally looked comfortable dancing! This was his best dance of the season and the judges agreed.
Score: 30/40
Nancy and Artem: Nancy shared her journey with motherhood before dancing a Foxtrot to Rascal Flatt’s “My Wish.” Her dance was beautiful and allowed her to show off her skills. The judges praised her and her ability to connect to the dance. Nancy will be a tough competitor throughout and I fully expect her to stay awhile.
Score: 33/40
Mr. T & Kym: Mr. T’s most memorable year was the year he battled cancer. After his faith-inspired story, he danced a waltz to “Amazing Grace.” Kym mostly danced while being led around by a stiff Mr. T, but he did try to “pour his faith” into it. Carrie Ann was moved to tears and all the judges were inspired. Mr. T just doesn’t have what it takes to stay in the competition.
Score: 28/40
Heather and Maks (Alan): Heather shared her love story and concluded that her most memorable year was when she got married. Heather did an incredibly fun cha-cha to “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon.
The judges raved about her technique, with Len calling it “sharp” and “crisp.” Carrie Ann, yet again, deducted for a lift. I think Heather is finally living up to her expectations as a former back up dancer.
Score: 35/40
David and Lindsay: Winning the World Series in his last year playing baseball was David’s most memorable year. He and Lindsay take on the Viennese Waltz to “Forever Young” by Youth Group.
While David brings a lot of heart to all his dances, the judges had some criticisms for this dance. The Viennese Waltz had too much “skipping” and was clumsy instead of smooth. David may be an underdog in the competition, but he is a fan favorite!
Score: 31/40
Rashad and Emma: Rashad shared his rocky relationship with his dad and how coming home to take care of his father after medical issues was his most memorable year. He did a contemporary dance to “Unconditionally” by Katy Perry to show his unconditional love for his family.
After the lift-filled dance, he shared a long, emotional hug with his dad in the audience. All the judges were moved and Carrie Ann called him a “born dancer.” Rashad earned the highest score of the season with his extremely moving performance.
Score 39/40
Erika and Gleb: Erika’s most memorable year was when she left home to pursue her dreams in New York. Erika did a cha-cha to “Express Yourself” by Madonna. It seemed like a slow cha-cha with not too much movement going on, especially, compared to Heather’s great performance.
Len called out the performance for being more of the same sex appeal inspired dances. Len was booed by the crowd, but his point was valid. Everyone else has broken out of their comfort zone and Erika needs to show that she can do something else.
Score: 30/40
Simone and Sasha: Simone shared the emotional story of being in foster care and being adopted by her grandparents. She performed a Viennese Waltz to Chris Tomlin’s “Good Good Father.” The graceful, emotion-filled dance ended with her running to hug her parents. Simone was praised for showing emotion and vulnerability. Judges called it her best dance, but it only scored 9’s!
Score: 36/40
Bonner and Sharna: Bonner’s most memorable year was when he was paralyzed while bull riding. “Feeling Good” by Michael Buble is the song choice for Bonner and Sharna’s Foxtrot.
It was Bonner’s best dance, but Sharna still seemed to be dancing around him a lot. The judges complimented his frame and Len called his “footwork suspect.” His improvement is making the competition that much tighter.
Score: 32/40
Results: The two couples in jeopardy were Mr. T and Kym and Erika and Gleb. The audience reacted to both couples by booing.
Mr. T and Kym were the couple who went home. Mr. T said it was a great experience and that he couldn’t dance. He was so fun to have on the show, but just didn’t have the skill to stick around.
