SyFy Channel has their own Mystery, Inc. with The Magicians, which returns for Season 2 on Wednesday, January 25th.
So, what do we want for Season 2? More gruesome deaths, dragons, and boobs galore? No, wait, that’s the other show: Game of Thrones on HBO. We only wink at that in The Magicians.
What we want based on Season 1 is the following;
1. All hands on deck

We sure want ‘Penny’ Adiyodi (Arjun Gupta) to get some first aid for his spell-weaving abilities that were cut short in the Season 1 finale. He’d sure wish for a nose-job equivalent to his ailment, but as Julia Wicker (Stella Maeve) says in one of the Season 2 trailers:
You’re wiping your own ass, so figure that out…
2. More landscapes and locations
To watch the vistas of Fillory, the magic realm, for real. To get the Fantasy in the show, for real.
We barely scratched the surface of the fantasy-world. Yes, sure, we visited the Hobbit-hole of the Faun-Ram Ember as well as we get to see an invisible castle…
We want real walls, SyFy!!!
3. Take to the streets
Street-magic in the real-life storyline. We want to see more magic of the streets. The forbidden magic of the outcasts. The hedge-wizards’ invocations always seem more dangerous that the power wielded by the scholars of Brakebills University.
4. Bad, badder, baddest
Villains, villains, and moth-men. Dangers and enemies to the north, south, east, and west. Give us adversaries and for all of Fillory: may there be death. A show like The Magicians should have an element of risk, characters should face grave danger or it all remains a laugh.
SyFy Channel has done this previously on Helix, for instance. We don’t know, however, if every character from Season 1 is still alive. The cliff-hanger is still in play. Who will die and who will recover, in part or in full?
One thing is for sure, the Moth-man is out there.
5. Our heroes
Heroines and heroes — give them to us! We do have some potential heroines with god-like powers and kickass attitudes but now we need a slew of sidekicks to save Fillory and our team of magicians. Are we to guess what Season 2 will be about we have to go for a less magical approach and focus on the mundane skills the characters possess or acquire.
Otherwise, Magic Missile would be preferred over a bow and arrow, unless the point is dipped in virgin tears of a unicorn, or something corny.
6. Increasing the cast
More missing students to the mix. Rivalling factions. We hear rumors about four kings in Fillory. Will we find more missing students of Brakebills in the courts of the land?
Or are we facing the four Royals of Fillory?
