The 100 Season 4: What We Learned at Unity Days 2017
The second weekend of January, fans and cast members of The 100 descended upon Vancouver for Unity Days 2017.
The convention was intimate, exciting, and unifying. Everyone who attended will tell you that the atmosphere was filled with love for the show, the cast, and fellow fans and an overwhelming sense positivity.
I was given the opportunity to attend as a panelist for the Meta Panel on the opening night of the convention. I spoke about my experience watching and writing about the show along with hosts from Meta Station and The Afictionados (formerly at The Giantist), and The Dropship‘s Jo Garfien.

Garfien also held a thrilling Cancer Gets Lost auction on the first night which raised over four thousand dollars for pancreatic cancer research!

Throughout the weekend, I was able to listen to several members of the cast speak about the show and their thoughts on the upcoming season.
Here’s what I learned about The 100 Season 4, including some insight into our favorite characters.
Season 4 is going to be reminiscent of Season 1
All cast members who attended Unity Days are incredibly excited about Season 4.
Lindsey Morgan, who plays Raven, let us know that the new season feels very much like Season 1 in a way. “The relationships are a lot more evolved, mature, and dynamic,” said Morgan.
The 100 Season 4 looks to be much more intimate and character driven than the previous two seasons. All of the drama, excitement, and high-stakes energy of Seasons 2 and 3 are still present, but the mode of storytelling harkens back to Season 1 in a very positive way.

It’s going to be a bigger season for some of our favorite secondary characters
Characters such as Jackson, Harper, Echo, and Niylah are going to get bigger storylines in Season 4 than they’ve held previously.
Tasya Teles, who plays Echo, teased that this is a really big year for her character. We’re going to see a lot of her relationship with Bellamy, the fallout of Mount Weather, and what role she plays in the Ice Nation hierarchy.

Niylah will have a storyline with Octavia and the rest of Skaikru. Jessica Harmon told fans that her character has a “high moral compass and [she] sticks to what she believes in.”
Harmon also said that Niylah both admired and was inspired by Commander Lexa, so it will be interesting to see how that shapes her character’s actions this season.
Sachin Sahel and Chelsey Reist (Jackson and Harper respectively) told us that their roles are bigger this season as well. Unfortunately, whatever these two Skaikru residents are up to is too wrapped up in spoilers to share too much of, but we’re very excited to see how they react to the approaching apocalypse.
We’re in store for some new relationships and dynamics
I sat down with Luisa D’Oliveira in a meet and greet at Unity Days and asked her who she had been excited to work with besides Richard Harmon. For the sake of keeping us spoiler-free, D’Oliveira couldn’t give us any names, but she said she’s excited to see Emori with the other badass ladies of the show.
Which characters do you want to see Emori with in Season 4? I’m hoping she teams up with the Griffin ladies! Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Kane and Abby began a romantic relationship in Season 3 which will continue to grow in Season 4.
In Season 3, no one really knew about the change in their relationship, except for perhaps Octavia; and let’s face it, that girl had more to deal with than telling Clarke her mom’s got a new boyfriend. Eliza Taylor says that we will get to see Clarke’s reaction in the coming season. How do you think Clarke will react to Abby’s new relationship status?
We’ll get to see the City of Light fallout
So many of the characters we love entered the City of Light in Season 3, either of their own choosing or by force. At Unity Days, we learned that everyone who entered the City of Light has a general awareness and understanding of the people who were there with them.
Lots of characters are going to struggle with the fallout and have trouble reconciling their actions while chipped with who they really are.
In the wake of ALIE’s manipulation and destruction, some relationships will grow stronger, others fall apart, and entirely new ones will be created in unexpected ways.
