The 100 Season 4: What We Learned at Unity Days 2017
Changes to Clarke’s relationships, new and old
Eliza Taylor had a panel all to herself on Saturday morning, and she shared some of her insight into Clarke’s relationships this season.
As the show’s lead, Clarke rightfully gets the most screen time, but in the past who she spends it with has not always been evenly distributed. In Season 4, we are going to get to see Clarke interact more with Raven, Luna, Abby, and Kane in particular.
Taylor said in the fallout from the City of Light, Clarke and Raven connect over it in a really exciting and unexpected way. Could there be hope for Princess Mechanic yet? We’ll have to wait and see, but any time these two are working together it’s pure magic, and we couldn’t be more excited.
Clarke’s relationship with Abby is a favorite of many, and Taylor’s thoughts on these two give us a lot of hope for the mother/daughter duo. Taylor spoke highly of both Paige Turco and her character, saying she’s loved living and working with her.

Taylor believes that Clarke gets her strength from Abby, and her softer side came from Jake. “Abby is insanely smart and diplomatic” and sometimes she lets her emotions drive her decisions, but not often, Taylor shared.
Hopefully, that part of the “Season 1 feel” of Season 4 is making this relationship once more a driving force for the story.
Additionally, Taylor said we will get to see Clarke interacting with Kane a lot in Season 4! These two have a phenomenal knack for leadership and carrying the burdens of their people. Hopefully, we’ll see them bond over their duties and their shared love for Abby as they try to solve the problems that accompany a second nuclear apocalypse.
Everyone’s excited for Henry Ian Cusick’s directorial debut
The 100’s own Henry Ian Cusick, who plays Marcus Kane, directed Season 4 episode 11, “The Other Side.”
Richard Harmon told fans that Cusick did a wonderful job balancing his roles between actor and director. Harmon, Sahel, Jarod Joseph, and Christopher Larkin all agreed that Cusick’s style of directing is intimate and hands-on.
Cusick’s episode falls towards the end of Season 4.
Some words of advice from the cast
Unity Days 2017 was filled with messages of hope and positivity. Here are a few words of wisdom from our friends on The 100:
Sachin Sahel said it’s important to ignore toxic and negative people. Sahel is pure sunshine and has a beautiful outlook on how we should go about our lives: “Wake up and ask yourself ‘what am I going to do today that’s going to make me happy?’ and then do that thing.”

Eliza Taylor shared that knowing what she wanted to do [acting] got her through the harder times working waitress jobs when she was worried she was on the wrong path.
Follow your heart and go after your dreams.
Lindsey Morgan spoke passionately about representation on screen and encouraged us all to fight for our place in the world and in media. We’re all more than the stereotypes people try to fit us into.

Luisa D’Oliveira reminded us all that “it’s often in the dark times that incredible things happen.”

Unity Days 2017 was hands down the best experience I have ever had at a convention. Everyone from the special guests, to the vendors, to the staff, to the attendees inspired a sense of hope, kindness, and friendship in one another.
Convention Runners Leana Santos, Miah Bannerman, Linda Suurhoff, and Shayne Bannerman delivered a truly unforgettable experience, and we can’t wait to see them next year for Unity Days 2018!
