Frequency Review: Harmonic (Season 1 Episode 12)
On Frequency Season 1 Episode, Deacon Joe does something surprising. He turns himself in, twice actually. It’s like he suddenly grows a conscience or something…which does not make a lot of sense.
Unless, the reason he turns himself in is to cover for one of his children because Deacon Joe isn’t the only killer in the family.
He turns himself in after both Frank and Raimy really push the Nightingale killer angle and try to get him to confess. If he was the Nightingale (and there’s no other murderer in the family), then what would have made Deacon Joe turn himself in?
Yeah the cops are on to him, but in both times, the cops don’t have anything that will stick. He is not charged with the murders, so there is not any reason for him to turn himself in.
He tells Raimy that he brought God’s wrath into his house and that’s why his kids are the way they are. Why would he say that if he only kills those women to save them? Wouldn’t that make God proud? (In a twisted person’s mind, obviously.)
Unless, the only person Deacon Joe murdered was his wife, and it looks like that was an accident/moment of passion incident. I’m not saying that Deacon Joe is suddenly a good person or anything of the sorts, but he might not be the Nightingale.
He has always insisted that he has never killed other women, so maybe Deacon Joe wasn’t lying about that.
Deacon Joe goes through the good death ritual with Robbie in the room. He makes Robbie participate, so what if that moment is when Robbie suddenly saw what his father was doing as something good, as something that he should also repeat.
Granted, I could be wrong and Deacon Joe could be the Nightingale, but I still think there’s something off with Robbie.

Plus, it would make sense that a father would turn himself in for the crimes of his son. As evident by what he says to Raimy, he feels responsible for how his children turned out — the sins of the father.
Hell, maybe he mentions both children because they are both murderous little buggers. Deacon Joe could have hospitalized Megan because he saw those tendencies in her, or he could have hospitalized her because he’s an awful human being.
What do you think? Could Robbie be the real Nightingale, or the Nightingale 2.0?
This potential twist adds a layer of excitement and intrigue that the show has definitely been lacking. Suddenly, there’s this desire to get in and dissect the clues to figure out if we’re all just crazy(or maybe I’m the only crazy one here) or that something not right.
The Nightingale revealed happened pretty early on, so there’s always been this suspicion that Raimy and Frank were wrong. Personally, this is the only time that I cannot wait for the next episode.
Frank and Raimy have definitely developed a bit of a pattern. Raimy tells Frank to do something. Frank says no, we gotta play this smart. Raimy whines, and Frank caves.
It’s annoying, especially because Frank is usually right. Raimy needs to back down and play things smart, but it’s like that’s not a skill set she has.
Frank: I don’t get do overs like you. I mean time doesn’t just restart and wash away my digressions. Whatever fallout I have, I have to deal with it.
Every time Raimy goes too far, time washes it away, and Raimy never learns. You would think realizing that she can and has killed a man would have some kind of effect on her but apparently not.
Is it supposed to be exciting watching Raimy go too far and waterboard Frank in a bathroom? It’s not. It’s just expected.
