22 TV Characters Who Tragically Died In 2016
12. Pawter Simms (Killjoys)

Pawter really stepped up in Killjoys Season 2, taking her place on the Council of the Nine while questioning and fighting the Company and continuing to help the citizens of Old Town.
Plus, she and Johnny were so happy together. Like, regular people happy.
But good things never last.
Pawter is reminded in the cruelest way possible that you should never trust Delle Seyah Kendry, who stabs Pawter when she thinks they’re just going to negotiate Westerley’s independence.
It’s a huge blow, not only for fans, but for Johnny, who shoots Delle Seyah in the Season 2 finale (“I’m not a hero. I just loved her.”) and leaves D’avin and Dutch without saying goodbye.
13. Tex (The Last Ship)
This one HURT. Badly. Tex returned in The Last Ship Season 3 just in time to help. For a handful of episodes, we saw him fight hard while also providing some much-needed comic relief.
We even got to see him teaching his daughter how to survive and apocalypse.
The fan-favorite character was always fiercely loyal, right until the end when he risked his life to help Chandler get his children back. In trying to save Chandler too, he caught a bullet, in the most shocking moment of the season. RIP, Tex. We’ll miss you!
14. Robin Hood (Once Upon a Time)

If there was ever a death in Once Upon a Time that had us yelling, “Noooooooo,” it was Robin’s death in “Last Rites.”
Robin and Regina’s relationship was a bright spot in the series, and it’s a relationship that was a hundred percent earned. Which made it all the more heartbreaking when Robin stepped in front of Regina in order to save her from Hades and the Olympian Crystal.
It was an outcome that was unexpected and a loss that has definitely been felt. Moreover, the circumstances surrounding Robin’s death had a finality that had us getting choked up just seconds after it happened.
15. Poussey Washington (Orange Is The New Black)

Orange Is The New Black has seen a few deaths in its four seasons, but Poussey Washington’s death is going to have ripples throughout the series.
Poussey’s death is one of the most dramatic scenes in the show’s history. During a peaceful protest turned violent by the season’s new prison guards, she’s crushed to death under the weight of CO Baxter Bayley. While some characters on this list may have gone out in a blaze of glory, Poussey’s was quiet, and more importantly needless.
She’s a character that will be missed and whose vacancy will be felt. Fortunately, Samira Wiley is going on to play Moira in The Handmaid’s Tale this spring, and we think she will be amazing.
16. Camille O’Connell (The Originals)

By Lyra Hale
Camille did more than just serve some drinks to the supernatural community and act as a guiding light to the vampires of New Orleans.
She was a fighter, lover, friend, companion, and confidant right on the cusp of discovering how grand and beautiful life could be, before her fire was extinguished.
Even in her final moments, she inspired those around her to do better, to do what must be done, and to find an inner peace for those they loved and the city they called home.
17. Davina Claire (The Originals)

By Lyra Hale
No matter what plane of existence Davina was in, she was always there for her friends and loved ones. After being manipulated, killed, and tortured, you’d think that she would’ve given up. She didn’t.
She let her love for those around her, guide her to cutting off magic from the ancestors and resetting the playing field for all witches and supernatural beings in New Orleans. Davina really did give ’em hell.
