20 Favorite TV Couples from 2016

Best of 2016, Bones, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Gilmore Girls, Grey's Anatomy, Lists, Luke Cage, Once Upon a Time, Orange Is the New Black, Person of Interest, Supergirl, The 100, The Vampire Diaries, This is Us
18. Booth and Brennan (Bones)

To say that Booth and Brennan have been through a lot together is a huge understatement. This year, they continued to stick by one another and to allow themselves to keep learning from each other. They make a dynamite team, and they’re adorable to watch.

19. Emma and Killian (Once Upon a Time)

If there were ever any doubts that Emma and Killian belong, together they were put to rest this year. The second half of Season 5 took Emma and her family to the Underworld to rescue Killian.

The compelling story had us at the edge of our seats and made us all wonder if our significant others would be brave enough to face the Underworld to bring us back to the land of the living. (Yes, that’s all kinds of problematic in the real world, but that’s what fairy tales are for.)

20. Bonnie and Enzo (The Vampire Diaries)

I never would have thought that in the final season of the long-running CW series that the one couple I would care about the most didn’t include either Salvatore brother. Bonnie and Enzo’s coupling took the audience by surprise.

However, they’ve proved to be a breath of fresh air from the constant back and forth the other couples can never seem to escape from. Their romance may be newer, but their devotion to one another has proved to be the real deal. Let’s just hope both of them make it out of the series alive!

10 Terrific TV Bromances from 2016

Samantha (she/her) is a social media specialist by day and a sci-fi junkie by night. As a freelance writer and podcaster, she also enjoys live-tweeting, blogging, good music, and better television. Her current favorite television shows include Star Trek (yes, all of them), Riverdale, and Stranger Things and there will always be a place in her heart for Battlestar Galactica, Leverage, and The West Wing.

  • Emma and Hook completely invalidated this entire list. The poor girls who romanticize that. I truly hope they get help and don’t get stuck with a man like Hook.

    • ^ again totally ignoring all else to have a shipping tantrum as usual. the only person who in the show who is big problem is rumple and what he has done to belle

  • LOL nothing says romance like trying to kill your so called significant other and her parents. Craptain Yawn. I did agree with most of the other relationships on here though.

    • ^ guess what he didnt, he broke through his dark one curse, as shown on the episode. He did that himself even with the evilest darkness in him. Thats the biggest difference.

  • Count me among those who really, really don’t see Hook & Emma as the best or most worthy ship from Once Upon A Time to make a best-of list, but agree with most of the other couples. Really good to see Luke Cage and This is Us on the your list. I feel like both shows tend to get ignored a lot since they’re not typical… shipper shows, I guess. And Kane/Abby and Clarke/Lexa were my favorite relationships on The 100 too!

  • Emma and Hook is one of the best relationships on the show, aside from Snow and Charming. They support each other, bring out the best in each other, and their love is so beautiful.

  • Hook tried to kill her whole family, only Emma went to the Underworld for him. The rest went for her as they said onscreen multiple times. Worst pairing ever since Spuffy.
