20 Favorite TV Couples from 2016
7. Maeve and Hector (Westworld)

Westworld had it’s share of problems in it’s first season, but this relationship is not one of them. Maeve’s storyline was easily the best thing about the show and her connection with Hector was both sexy and exciting.
By the end of the season, I was rooting for the two of them to burn the whole park to the ground together. They also had one of the only two truly consensual on-screen sex scenes on the show. With Maeve choosing not to leave, the show can easily pick these two up again next season, and I sure hope they do.
8. Kelly and Yorkie (Black Mirror)

Netflix’s Black Mirror is a collection of stand alone sci-fi/tech stories, but the one that stole our hearts is the new season’s 3rd episode “San Junipero.” Kelly and Yorkie meet in a virtual reality world and fall in love in a party town. As the episode progresses you learn that they’re both dying.
Kelly had been in love with her husband before and didn’t expect to find that kind of love again. Yorkie never got to have that outside “San Junipero” and was rejected by her own family.
Together, they find love again and for the first time, and remember what it means to be alive and happy. Turning the dead lesbian trope on its head, these two get to spend forever in their happy ever after.
9. Waverly Earp and Nicole Haught (Wynonna Earp)

Watching Waverly dump her gross boyfriend and fall in love with the brave and thoughtful officer Nicole Haught is a joy to behold. We all just want our heroes to be happy and these two definitely make each other happy. Nicole gives Waverly the respect and room to breath that she deserves.
They actively encourage each other to be the best version of themselves. Nicole’s bullet proof vest is one of the true heroes of 2016, petition to hand these out to all the lesbians on television. I can’t wait to see these two again when Wynonna Earp returns for Season 2.
10. Claire Temple and Luke Cage (Luke Cage)

I love these two because they’re perfect for each other. There’s a balance in Claire’s relationship with Luke that she doesn’t have with Matt. On Luke Cage, Claire is his equal, she gives as good as she gets.
Claire is by no means a damsel, and she plays a crucial role in taking down the season’s big bad. It doesn’t hurt that their chemistry is off the charts either.
11. Poussey and Soso (Orange is the New Black)

Poussey’s death was nothing short of an absolutely devastating tragedy. However, watching her relationship with Soso develop throughout the season was completely heartwarming. What started as a fling turned into something deeper, a love that gave the two of them hope for the future and their life together.
Seeing them overcome their struggles of the previous season to find hope and love in each other remains important and special even if this beautiful relationship was ripped away from us far too soon.
12. Claire and Jamie (Outlander)

These two have been through hell and back, and they always come out stronger together on the other side. Season 1 gave us the sexy fun of a couple falling in love, Season 2 gives us a real marriage, and it isn’t always pretty.
But the depth of their love for each other grows with each passing episode, and – as the finale shows us – it’s powerful enough to reach through time and bring them back to each other again and again. We can’t wait for them to be reunited again in S3!

Emma and Hook!!!
Emma Swan and Killian Hook
Emma and Hook completely invalidated this entire list. The poor girls who romanticize that. I truly hope they get help and don’t get stuck with a man like Hook.
^ again totally ignoring all else to have a shipping tantrum as usual. the only person who in the show who is big problem is rumple and what he has done to belle
LOL nothing says romance like trying to kill your so called significant other and her parents. Craptain Yawn. I did agree with most of the other relationships on here though.
^ guess what he didnt, he broke through his dark one curse, as shown on the episode. He did that himself even with the evilest darkness in him. Thats the biggest difference.
Rumple has ALL the DO inside him and still never tried to kill the people he loves.
Rumple tried to kill Henry to save his own life in season 2.
Yeah to the first place. And a big fat NO THANK YOU to Emma and Hook
Count me among those who really, really don’t see Hook & Emma as the best or most worthy ship from Once Upon A Time to make a best-of list, but agree with most of the other couples. Really good to see Luke Cage and This is Us on the your list. I feel like both shows tend to get ignored a lot since they’re not typical… shipper shows, I guess. And Kane/Abby and Clarke/Lexa were my favorite relationships on The 100 too!
Lexa et clarke beautiful
Henry and Elizabeth McCord from Madam Secretary <3 OTP of all OTP's!
Steroline is my favorite one
Emma and Hook are disgusting and ruined OUAT lmao
YASSS! All my gay reps made it! Thank you for this article ?
!!!! Yay Captain swan the only ones I care about! They are so pure and beautiful. ??
Emma and Hook is one of the best relationships on the show, aside from Snow and Charming. They support each other, bring out the best in each other, and their love is so beautiful.
Hook tried to kill her whole family, only Emma went to the Underworld for him. The rest went for her as they said onscreen multiple times. Worst pairing ever since Spuffy.
