TNT’s The Last Ship Renewed for Season 5

News, The Last Ship

The Nathan James isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

It was announced earlier this summer at the TCA Summer Press Tour that The Last Ship had been renewed for Season 4, but TNT announced today that they are going ahead and extending that renewal through Season 5!

Because hey, why would you want to mess with a good thing?

The Last Ship, which stars Eric Dane, Adam Baldwin, and Bridget Regan, is based on William Brinkley’s novel of the same name.

The action-packed drama really is the perfect summer show. The Last Ship currently reaches and average of 7.1 million viewers per episode across multiple platforms. It also ranks as one of basic cable’s Top 10 summer dramas with adults 18-49.

The show also stars Charles Parnell, Travis Van Winkle, Marissa Neitling, Christina Elmore, Jocko Sims, Bren Foster and Kevin Michael Martin.

Sarah Aubrey, executive vice president of original programming for TNT, said in a statement, “The Last Ship has taken viewers on an exciting ride through three truly thrilling seasons.”

“We look forward to watching the cast and production team ratchet up the drama, action and suspense even more over the next two seasons through summer 2018,” Aubrey continued.

You know what? We’re looking forward to it, too!

It’s comforting to know we’ll have Tom Chandler, Mike Slattery, and the crew of The Nathan James on our TV screens for at least two more summers.

Seasons 4 and 5 of  The Last Ship will each have 10 episodes.

And don’t miss the Season 3 finale of The Last Ship, which airs this Sunday, September 11th at 9/8c on TNT.
