Tell-Tale TV Picks of the Week: The Originals, Arrow, and The Catch Deliver the Most Shocking Moments
This week on TV, Limitless ended its first season with a promise of squad goals if it gets a season two, and Lucifer ended its first season with a emphasis on family. We said farewell to Stonehaven and Elena on the series finale of Bitten, and Scorpion ended its second season by seemingly ending one relationship and kickstarting another. Game of Thrones came back and took over everyone’s lives. Even if you don’t watch (like me), it’s impossible to escape.
Below, some of our writers share their picks from this week in TV.
Most Shocking Moment
Lizzie: Laurel and Oliver hooking up in flashbacks exactly a week after Tommy’s funeral on Arrow. I can’t even comprehend what was going through the writers’ mind. I’m going to go with they took a leave of their senses, because this was 100% not the way to honor Laurel Lance. She was never a particularly well-written character, but this? This takes the cake.
Allison: Rhys killing Felicity on The Catch. Margot had told just about everyone not to trust her brother, but I always took it as Rhys was kind of shady and not trustworthy. I didn’t think he was the kind to kill a woman he’s been involved with just because she’s also been with his sister. Rhys killed Felicity because she was no longer his. Felicity’s death was shocking, and it made it clear what kind of man Rhys is.
Lyra: Cami’s death on The Originals. She was at the beginning of a new part of her life. She was training and grounding herself in her family’s history, and accepting what she felt for Klaus. So why take her out? Why kill her when she could have contributed so much more to the overall storyline? Because she was meant to advance someone else’s.
Best Moment
Allison: I think I’m going to give it to Helena posing as Alison on Orphan Black. Helena is always entertaining to watch. She’s the complete opposite of Alison, which makes her impersonations absolutely hilarious and captivating. I also really love watching her pretend to be Donald’s wife/girlfriend. The two of them are ridiculously amusing. Also, how impressive is it that Helena knew all about Alison’s campaign?
Lyra: When Zoom phased through Caitlin’s body to kill Killer Frost on The Flash. It was so unexpected and cool! As soon as it happened my mouth dropped. If he can do that to another person then I can’t even imagine what he has up his sleeve next.

Ship of the Week
Lauren: Donnie and Alison on Orphan Black. Real love is burying a guy in your garage years ago and then renting a jackhammer to dig them up in order to save Alison’s sister. You’ve got to love when they call it a “haywire” plan. You also have to wonder how they are going to explain that to the neighbors. And the execution was just perfect. A serious situation melded with bits of hilarity.
Allison: Quintis on Scorpion! When Toby was kidnapped, we watched Happy do whatever it takes to get her man back. She didn’t break under stress or fear. She’s Happy Freaking Quinn, and she’s no damsel. Then, we had Toby adorably sing his proposal to Happy, and that’s how it ended. Shut up. Happy didn’t break our hearts and Toby’s by saying she was already married. IT NEVER HAPPENED.
Lyra: I’m going to come right out and say Olicity on Arrow. Sure, I know they’ve broken up but that ship is still sailing. They were able to share an intimate moment in the middle of so much chaos and doubt. No matter where they are in life they trust each other. Just you wait. They’ll be fine with time.
