Bones: Best Quotes from ‘The Strike in the Chord’ (Season 11 Episode 16)

Bones, Quotes

When the murder investigation leads the team to an a capella group, we end up learning a little secret about James Aubrey.

Bones delivers a fun, quirky episode with “The Strike in the Chord,” which includes a special appearance by Pentatonix. The episode also shows a side to Brennan that isn’t one we love to see, but at the end of the day, she makes the choice she has to make.

She also gives some advice to Parker, who we finally get to see for a few moments even if it is just through video chat.

And Hodgins? He has a much better attitude, but is also willing to take a risk Angela isn’t comfortable with.

Because this episode is a particularly fun one (Aubrey can sing!), I decided to pull out some of the episode’s best quotes. Check them out below!

Hodgins: The sound of a bell can make a lab rat do pretty much everything.
Cam: Yeah well, they do have very small brains.

Just after Cam makes that comment, everyone’s phone starts going off, making them stop what they are doing to check their devices. Oh, the irony!

Hodgins: I haven’t been prouder since Michael Vincent correctly identified a coccinella septempunctata… a ladybug.

Thanks for the clarification, Hodgins.

Aubrey: It’s called the internet Booth. You should step into the 21st century.

It’s good advice.

Hodgins: It’s not your decision to make. It’s mine, and I’m getting my legs back.

Angela, on the other hand, just wants him to be careful.

Brennan: You were brought on as an intern to contribute to our process. If I must babysit you, you become a hindrance, and I just can’t have that.

Harsh words to the new intern, but she isn’t wrong.

Aubrey: So, I don’t want Booth to find out. he’s gonna mock me. I got a manly reputation to protect here.

Of course he does!

Booth: Look, Bones. This decision isn’t up to you.
Brennan: I know, but isn’t it up to Parker?

That’s exactly what Booth needed to hear.

Hodgins: Little Copernicus came through for us.
Brennan: [Laughing] Oh, I assume you’re talking about the rat and not the astronomer?!

That’s exactly right, Dr. B.

Cam: Wanting things to work and actually making things work are two very different things, Hodgins.

That’s true of the new intern, but more importantly, it’s true of Hodgins’ situation, no matter how difficult it is.

Angela: You seem to care a whole lot about those rats lives, and yet you don’t even think twice about risking your own.
Hodgins: Come on, this is different.
Angela: I’m not sure that it is. The entire colony died because they were poked and prodded and tested on, and now you just want to sign up to do the same thing to yourself.

Well, when you put it that way, Angela…

Angela: Fine, but you are the one who’s gonna be cleaning the poop out of those cages.
Hodgins: You say that like it’s a bad thing.

Gross.

Booth: Let me tell you something, Bones. If he ends up turning out like you, I will be the proudest dad ever.

Possibly the best quote of the entire episode.
