Bones: Top Moments from ‘The Murder of the Meninist’
There’s a lot to love about this particular episode of Bones, “The Murder of the Meninist.”
We continue to see how Hodgins is adjusting to being in a wheelchair, and with a case about men’s rights, we also see several great moments from Dr. Brennan.
In fact, there are so many great moments in this episode, I decided to outline a few of my favorites. Here they are.
1. Aubrey’s encounter with a possible witness. She basically treats Aubrey like a celebrity, fangirling all over the place, especially when she sees that he’s “packing heat.”
She even insists on a selfie. Aubrey’s reaction is pretty great, and it’s yet another reason I love his character.
2. Hodgins uses the lift. It’s not a fun or happy moment, but it’s important, and it’s just one example of T.J. Thyne’s remarkable performance in this episode.
3. Angela uses a laser, inspiring this quote from Brennan: “May the force remain in your proximity.”
More importantly, this is also a chance for Brennan to ask Angela about the way Hodgins has been treating her, and Angela says that she and Hodgins made a promise to stand by each other for better or worse.
4. Aubrey brings donuts for Booth. It’s a thoughtful gesture as they bond over the fact that Booth things Brennan is a jinx for his hockey team.
5. Brennan and Booth go to a protest. It’s pretty serious protest about wage equality, and the protesters misunderstand why Booth and Brennan are there. Brennan, of course, feels the need to pull out her “Women for Change” card to prove that she supports them.
6. TMI from Fuentes. For real. I didn’t need to know about his thoughts on circumcision, but Angela and Cam’s reactions are priceless.
7. Brennan’s interaction with Fuentes.
Feuntes: Everyone knows it’s a man’s world.
Brennan: Well, I think it should be an equal one.
They continue the conversation when Fuentes assumes a woman wouldn’t be a killer, and he changes his tune after Brennan gives him a very dirty look.
8. Brennan throws a punch! This is by far the best moment of this episode. It’s not only satisfying, but it’s also a little more like the version of Brennan we knew in earlier seasons. Go Brennan!
9. Hodgins joins a support group. Despite his bad attitude, which is almost unbearable to watch in this episode, it’s still a step forward.
It also adds another layer to his character, and it’s going to be exciting to see how all of this continues to develop.

10. Brennan’s commitment to reversing the curse on Booth’s team. She insists on watching the game, but on reversing the curse by wearing a backwards hat.
She also adds to the festivities with a plate of snacks that all begin with the letter F. It’s just a fun, light-hearted moment between Booth and Brennan that shows the nature of their relationship.
