Bones Season 11 Episode 11 Preview: The Death in the Defense | Tell-Tale TV

Bones: 9 Things You Need To Know About the Spring Premiere

Bones, Previews

We’ve been waiting for what feels like forever for the return of Bones Season 11, especially after that shocking fall finale.

Thankfully, that wait is almost over. Bones returns in just a little over a week with “The Death in the Defense.”

Spoilers ahead!

Episode description: Picking up after the explosive fall finale, the all-new episode, “The Death in the Defense,” finds Hodgins (TJ Thyne) eight weeks into his rehabilitation and forced to navigate life in a wheelchair. Meanwhile, Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) investigate the death of a public defender who had multiple defendants from previous cases with motives to kill her.

I got a peek at the spring premiere, and while I certainly don’t want to give away too much, I do have a few hints as to what you can expect from this episode:

  1. Booth and Brennan have very different ideas about what is best for Hodgins.
  2. The case-of-the-week involves a snake, but not in an obvious way.
  3. Caroline has a connection to a suspect in the murder case.
  4. Cam is forced to have a difficult conversation.
  5. Wendell reflects on some advice that Booth once gave him.
  6. Hodgins finds a creative way to help out with a case.
  7. The phrase “king of the lab” suddenly feels very emotional.
  8. Caroline offers some encouraging words to Aubrey.
  9. We learn that Aubrey likes his coffee a very specific way.

  • Hmmm…kind of under-whelming after a 5 month hiatus. Is this all we really have to look forward to?

In your article we get 3 mentions of Brennan and Booth, but 7 mentions of other characters, including how Aubrey likes his coffee. Really? Nothing about B&B as a couple, Pops, Parker, Christine or Hank? Very disappointed that the focus, again, does not seem to be on the leads in this show.

    • Thanks for commenting! I will say that much of the focus on this episode is on Hodgins, but with good reason. There’s definitely a lot to look forward to, in my opinion.

      • I would like to see some kind of miracle surgery that can make Hodges walk again……that last episode was devastating! I love Angela and Hodges almost as much as Booth and Brennan!!!

  • I agree with Sandy I am hoping something miraculous will happen with Hodgins — he is the one that has so much fun being a crime fighter too and hearing him say King of the Lab is always so funny !! I also want to hear more about Booth and Brennan !!!! I don’t care two hooks about Aubrey’s coffee !! Bring on Bones !!!

  • Maybe the rare return of Zach will help hodgins heal!! Maybe Zach will make him compeate for king of the lab to heal him!!!!

  • That would be great but Zach won’t ever be able to leave the psychiatric facility – that in itself would be a miracle !!!!

I want Jack out of that wheelchair and being the good ole Jack we have known for 10 + seasons !!

  • That would be great but I am not sure how that could happen!! I want Jack back – I love his enthusiasm about his work and if he stays in the wheelchair that will probably change !!!
