Tell-Tale TV Picks of the Week: Kabby, Grebecca, and Captain Swan Are Our Ships of the Week
This week on TV, Barry managed to run into whatever Earth Supergirl is on, and him and Kara teaming up was such a delight. Wynonna reluctantly went back home to her family on the series premiere of Wynonna Earp, while Once Upon a Time staged a Jones family reunion. On The 100, we finally got our Kabby kiss, but we also had to the endure the overly graphic (to the point of discomfort) death of a beloved character, Lincoln kom Trikru. Reshop, Lincoln.
Best Moment
Christine: Seeing Hook and Emma back in action on Once Upon a Time. I’ve just missed their story. All season it’s been so angsty. I mean, it’s STILL a little angsty. But just seeing them back in a good place, on the same side, neither of them as a Dark One…it was nice.
Lizzie: Felicity “I don’t need no one to save me Smoak” taking on that bee monster/whatever/thing in Arrow. Sure, the rescue was a team effort, but Felicity is surely not a damsel in distress. She can accept a little help, but she doesn’t need anyone to save her. Not in any aspect of her life.
Lyra: Barry and Kara on Supergirl discovering how awesome they are when he brought her ice cream and she offered him a food splurging partner. It was like watching two excited puppies being introduced to each other for the first time ever! Their faces were so impressed and eager that I couldn’t pick who was cuter!
Allison: I’m going to expand on Lyra’s answer and say Barry’s entire presence on Supergirl. I loved his interactions with everyone’s in Kara’s life. His friendship with Winn was adorable. His meeting with Cat Grant was just awkwardly hilarious. I had a huge smile on my face during the entire hour. I’ve missed this cocky and adorable version of Barry, and he was just a ball of light and sunshine. I need Barry and Kara to team up more often. Like Lyra said, they are two adorable puppies.
Caralynn: The Kane and Abby kiss on The 100. Oh my god, I love these two. Both of their scenes this week were absolutely perfect. I adore well executed slow burn romance, and theirs is one of my all time favorites. I’ve also had a massive crush on Henry Ian Cusick ever since his Desmond days on Lost, so that’s definitely a contributing factor.
Ship of the Week
Christine: Grebecca!!!! How great was it to see them FINALLY gettin’ down and dirty on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend?! And guys…that quote about “3 days of ruining each other, and not emotionally…” I mean…that was kind of hot, amiright?
Lizzie: Captain Swan. Finally, finally, finally, the main couple in Once Upon A Time had a breakthrough that made me think that a TLK and/or a proposal could be in the immediate future. Killian Jones forgiving himself, accepting that he deserves happiness, reaching for that happiness with Emma is the one thing these two needed to go from a regular couple, to something more. Now we just need the something more. You hear me, OUAT writers? Now we need the something more.
Allison: Elizabeth and Henry McCord on Madam Secretary. I loved that during the nuclear warhead crisis, the two of them were having a marital disagreement about whether or not Henry is capable of fixing the washing machine. I couldn’t stop laughing when Elizabeth brought up the garage door debacle. I love that we get to see Henry and Elizabeth go through normal marital spats, and the fact that Henry fixed the washer before the mechanic got there was just great.
Samantha: Kane and Abby on The 100 got heartbreaking and intimate on this week’s episode and I am living for it. Their two scenes this week we’re both essentially goodbyes, but one contained confessions of love and the other contained kissing.
Caralynn: Argh, Christine, I knew you were going to pick Gregbecca and that’s my choice too! Rebecca realizing that Josh is kinda meh, and Greg and Rebecca finally getting together on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was basically all I’ve wanted all season long. Those two have amazing chemistry. They’re also a pair of sad sacks, so it was great to see them have a moment of happiness. I hope it lasts. Runner-up couple: Stefan/Valerie on The Vampire Diaries. I know, it’s weird, but Valerie has kinda been growing on me lately.

Moment that Left You Wondering
Christine: There’s no universe that would ever make me believe that Sam Winchester would be taken down by a guy who looks like a Hart of Dixie extra SUFFOCATING him on Supernatural. Come on. At least TRY to make me believe in the story.
Lizzie: Just about everything Barry Allen did this week in The Flash. I think Barry’s a smart guy. I mean, we’ve been told that, but he certainly didn’t prove it this week. And even though The Flash writers somehow forgave him for messing with just about everything on his trip to the past, I can’t.
Lyra: Brie on Arrow being able to build herself a man made out of hundreds of mechanical bees. So you’re telling me she can build that immensely complicated thing but not something to help her walk after her surgery? Sounds un-bee-lievable.
Allison: I’m struggling with a lot that happened on Legends of Tomorrow. Mick is Chronos? If you spend enough time in a time period forget who you are? I’m sorry, but I just don’t understand. I tried to write out why I was so confused, but it made my brain hurt, so I stopped.
Caralynn: Everything about Rayna Cruz the Huntress on The Vampire Diaries is confusing. She’s a vampire hunter but she doesn’t seem into it at all. She kept giving Stefan life advice? Why does she care? If her supernatural curse-mandated M.O. is to kill vamps, why does she keep chatting with them and then running off after Stefan instead of, say, killing anyone in her path? All of it is weird.
