Tell-Tale TV Picks of the Week: Once Upon a Time, Grimm, and Bones Bring Mid-Season Finale Shockers
Character of the Week
Lizzie: Henrietta Lange, on NCIS: LA. I hate Hetty more than I like her these days, because, just as Kensi points out in this episode, lately, it feels like her Machiavellian plans are not always in the best interest of her people. But, in this episode, with her having Deek’s back 110%, pulling the strings to make sure he got out EVEN when she knew he was guilty, and then delivering sound advice, Hetty wins the day. Let’s hope this Hetty can remain on the show and we don’t have to get the other one back.
Ashley: This might be sort of cheating, but I finally started watching Jessica Jones on Netflix, so I have to go with Jessica! She’s such an interesting and complex character — and nothing at all like what I was expecting.
Christine: Caroline on The Vampire Diaries. First off, blood and fluff sandwiches seems like something that only Caroline would do. Secondly, I’m really surprised by how much I like this pregnancy storyline for her. Watching her moods change and how Candice King switches between violent and sweet is actually quite entertaining.
Allison: Walter O’Brien on Scorpion. Walter and I don’t always see eye to eye, which is why I’m surprised that he is my character of the week. First, he did something nice for Ray. Walter tried to provide Ray with proof that he wasn’t at fault for his best friend’s death. Then, he put a picture of him and Megan in Ralph’s time capsule. God, that made me cry because Walter proved that Megan was the most important thing to him, not some science experiment or code that he could have put in the capsule. It’s Megan. Oh, and Walter also kicked ass at reading Shakespeare and blew my mind (as well as Paige’s and some snotty theatre kids’).
Lyra: Iris West on The Flash. Our lovely lady actually told Captain Cold, “Everyone in this room had a rough childhood. Get over it.” It was brave, extraordinary, and showed how confident this woman is in a world of heroes and villains.
Caralynn: Chad Radwell on Scream Queens. The season finale was very mediocre and woefully lacking in Chad, but the brief moments he appeared were the obvious bright points. Also, just in case we don’t get a second season and/or just in case Chad Radwell isn’t part of a second season, I just need to express how much I loved his bizarre one-liners, over the top cockiness, and his silly little hats. His melodramatic breakup with Denise Hemphill set to “Waterfalls” in the finale was total perfection.

So Rumbelle is abusive but Captain Swan is romantic? I think you ladies need to take some psychology and women’s studies classes. The Twilight-like infatuation you spew over Captain Kilgrave every OUAT article makes me ashamed to be a woman. Please stop squeezing like 13 year old girls over that toxic ship while throwing hypocritical shade at Rumbelle. They are both abusive trash that demean women.
