Doctor Who: Check Out the Series 9 Prologue!

Doctor Who, Previews

Can you feel that Whovians? It’s the countdown to another great season of Doctor Who and in typical fashion, BBC has released a prologue to make us shake in anticipation.

The prologue is set on the planet Karn, The Doctor in deep conversation with a member of The Sisterhood there. They are in mid-discussion about someone who is looking for our favorite Time Lord, his servants seeking him everywhere. And despite The Doctor’s assurances, The Sister believes that he will come to that person, to that creature. Being the ever curious one, he’ll definitely come.

From what we know of the upcoming series, The Master, a.k.a. Missy, could be the person being discussed here. The little snippet below gives more credence to the idea that it is The Master.

The Doctor: He and I have known each other a long time.
Sister: You’ve been enemies for all of it.

The prequel ends with The Doctor handing over a confession dial, the last will, and confession of a Time Lord, to The Sister. He leaves her to give the dial to someone unknown and says that he will hang around for a little, meditate on a rock.

Check out the preview below, and take a shot at what could be on that dial. A way for Gallifrey to escape the pocket universe? Or maybe a telegram to Clara to get the laundry? Either way, we’re set on an adventure that will change Doctor Who all over again.

Doctor Who returns to BBC America Saturday, September 19 at 9/8c.

Lyra is a TV and movie enthusiast. It all started on a dark night when she turned on Fox and fell in love with the X-Files. It was all history after that as she got lost in Doctor Who, The Marvel Verse and most recently everything DC. Her love for Doctor Who lead her to study abroad, where she fell into live-tweeting and the lovely explosion of fandom life that Tumblr is. Her main love for the summer (with a mega re-watch happening) is Arrow. When she isn’t sharing her love for TV and movies she’s writing fan-fiction, taking care of her family, and puttering around her kitchen.
