This Week in Television: John Stamos Comedy, Zooey Deschanel News, and More
It’s been quite an eventful week in television, that’s for certain. See below for some of our favorite highlights!
Will there be a few spoilers? You bet.
Zooey Deschanel Gets Engaged
It’s been a big year for New Girl actress, Zooey Deschanel, who got engaged to boyfriend Jacob Pechenik this week. That’s in addition to news that Deschanel is pregnant. Congratulations!
Patrick Dempsey’s Wife Files for Divorce
After 15 years of marriage, Jillian Fink, wife of Grey’s Anatomy star, Patrick Dempsey, has filed for divorce. According to TMZ, the couple released the following statement: “It is with careful consideration and mutual respect that we have decided to end our marriage. Our primary concern remains the well-being of our children, and we ask with profound gratitude that you respect our family’s privacy at this very sensitive time.”
Fox Orders Pilot of John Stamos Comedy
According to TV Line, John Stamos will star in a new, single-camera comedy on Fox. He’ll play a longtime bachelor who’s life changes dramatically when he learns that he is not only a father, but also a grandfather! Executive Producers will be John Stamos and Dan Fogleman (The Neighbors, Galavant). And Stamos recently made a guest appearance on Galavant, which will air it’s finale this Sunday. If that pairing was any indication, we think the new comedy is going to be pretty fantastic.
The Bachelor: Jimmy Kimmel Joins the Dates
You’ve never seen The Bachelor like this before. Jimmy Kimmel’s appearance was more than to help host. He planned dates (like a trip to Costco) and even tagged along for dinner.
Castle: A Little Role Play Fun
Richard Castle continues working as a P.I., which offers new possibilities for he and Beckett. Namely, a little fun role play in Castle’s office. Of course, they were interrupted, but this is one of our favorite moments of the week. Read our review of “Private Eye Caramba” for our thoughts on the whole episode.
Arrow: Oliver Queen is Alive!
And thank goodness for that. This week, the rest of the team works to keep the city under control in the absence of Oliver Queen, but they won’t be without him for long. Read our review of “Left Behind” for more details.
Chef Gabe Kennedy Wins Season 3 of The Taste
No one was surprised when the cook with a new record of gold stars won it all on The Taste. With chef Marcus Samuelsson as his mentor, Gabe Kennedy was announced the winner on Thursday night. He won a monetary prize and his own cooking series on abc.com.
