Slow Horses Season 6 Episode 2 Review: What is Dear Old Dad up To?

We actually get some answers as to what is going on with Slough House (current and prior) on Slow Horses Season 6 Episode 2, “Daddy Issues.”

Sure, there are still a lot of questions, like why someone would target them, but this is a good start. We get confirmation that Slough House is being targeted and that they were wiped from the Park’s records (digital and physical).

River’s father’s involvement is still nebulous. Personally, it doesn’t feel right if he were just a worker bee. He’s too important of a character to be relegated to someone’s hired man, even though that is kind of his job description.

Frank makes a comment that a father should take care of his son, which hints that things aren’t what they seem with Frank. It is highly doubtful that he really has River’s best interests at heart. After all, he did drive off with River hanging on to the hood of his car.

However, if, in his line of work, Frank were to hear about a plot to take out Slough House, it wouldn’t be surprising if he involved himself to keep an eye on River. What’s your theory?

To make matters more interesting (and complicated), the person who hired Frank is the same man tormenting Diana — Damien.

There’s a lot still to learn about Damien, but that meeting with Frank ties in Diana’s storyline with the attack on Slough House. Damien has quite the agenda, and it’ll be exciting to figure out his end goal.

Speaking of Diana, she may have earned herself a spot in Slough House for how she allowed herself to be absolutely blindsided in that interview. Come on, Diana, you are better than that!

It’s rare to see her off her game, and it can’t bode well for whatever plot is being hatched. Like her or hate her, she is pretty damn good at her job. But this incident is going to call for people questioning her and maybe even shake her up enough to miss something important. 

With the re-appearance of Sid and Lamb’s instructions to pick up the other former slow horses, we’re gearing up for a reunion on Slow Horses Season 6 Episode 3, “Resurrection.”

As much as I am dying to see Sid, I also can’t wait for Louisa to return to the mix. It’ll be fun to see what she’s been up to, and how she adjusts to being back with Slough House again.

Stray Thoughts

• Lamb barking at River is absolutely hilarious.
• Coe and Shirley continue to be a fun pairing, although I need both of them to pair up with River for a bit to see what chaos ensues.
• Coe being rich is unexpected.
• The killers are surprisingly entertaining to watch.
• Every episode, someone should be allowed to slap River upside the head, and Roddy gets the honor this time.
