Furious Receives Early Season 2 Renewal at Hulu
Furious will return for another season!
The freshman thriller series from executive producer Liz Meriwether and loosely based on 1987’s Black Widow has been renewed for a second season by Hulu.
Star and executive producer Emmy Rossum shared the news through a video on the streamer’s social media pages. “Hey, everyone. I’m thrilled to announce that Furious has been renewed for a second season,” Rossum shared.

“We are so overwhelmed and grateful for the love and support you have shown for our first season,” Rossum continued. As she mentions, this announcement comes days before the show’s debut season’s finale.
Furious Season 1 Episode 8, “Hart Island,” streams on Monday, August 31. The season finale’s description reads: “When Alice and Catherine converge, Catherine’s memories start to reveal themselves. A surprising truth comes to light.”
Deadline cites the renewal as “unusually early” because Hulu “usually waits for long-tail viewership data before making renewal decision.” The outlet also reports that “Hulu has not released ratings data for Furious yet but noted in the renewal announcement that viewership has been growing week over week.”
Variety reports that Furious‘s viewership has consistently grown every week since its series premiere in July.

The show stars Rossum as FBI agent Alice Black, who is “on the hunt for a mysterious and calculating female serial killer,” played by Lola Petticrew. “Both walk their paths toward justice, and as their lives start to intertwine, the line between right and wrong begins to blur,” per its description.
Furious also stars Scoot McNairy, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, and Jake Lacy.
The show’s newly-renewed sophomore season will likely follow Alice on a new case, per The Hollywood Reporter. The trade reports that Furious Season 2 is “still very early in the developmental process.”
Emmy Rossum executive produces the show for Composition 8, along with Ronald Bass, Matt Olmstead and Sam Hoffman. Brian Kirk executive produced and directed the first two episodes. 20th Television and Searchlight Television produce the show.
