My Adventures with Superman Season 3 Premiere Date Announced by Adult Swim

News

Fans of DC Comics can prepare for another super outing with the Man of Steel.

Animated series My Adventures with Superman Season 3 will premiere on Saturday, June 13, at midnight ET/PT on Adult Swim. The premiere will then be available to stream on HBO Max the following day.

The season will be adapting the comic arc Reign of the Supermen, per an Entertainment Weekly interview with producer Jake Wyatt. See the Season 3 poster below, which teases the character Hank Henshaw/Cyborg Superman.

My Adventures with Superman retells the classic Superman story. The big difference is that, in this version, Clark Kent (Jack Quaid) and Lois Lane (Alice Lee) are not star reporters at the Daily Planet, but interns trying to get their foot in the door.

The series takes influence from anime in its art style and often comedic tone. In his interview with Entertainment Weekly, Wyatt specifically cited Dragon Ball Z as a primary reference point for My Adventures with Superman.

My Adventures with Superman Season 1 focused on Clark, Lois, and Jimmy Olsen (Ishmel Sahid) being roped into a government conspiracy and uncovering the secrets of Clark’s lost homeworld, Krypton.

The second season amped the stakes, introducing Clark’s cousin Supergirl/Kara Zor-El (Kiana Madeira) and the evil AI Brainiac (Michael Emerson).

The synopsis for My Adventures with Superman Season 3 is as follows:

“Clark has truly become Superman and made peace with his Kryptonian origins – he’s ready to settle down! But Lois, who has finally become the Planet’s star reporter, is NOT.

Jimmy has evolved from freelance photographer to celebrity journalist—but he’s still intimidated by the romantic attentions of the newly arrived Kara Zor‑El, who’s trying to find her place on Earth.

In our latest action, comedy, and romance-packed season, this found family will have to confront powerful new enemies that challenge Superman, threaten their future, and test the bonds holding them together.

Can our heroes save their tomorrow–before it destroys today?”

In the comics, Reign of the Supermen followed The Death of Superman, with new four Superman-inspired heroes trying to fill the void left by his death: Eradicator, Superboy, Cyborg Superman, and John Henry Irons/Steel. Wyatt told EW, though, that this season is “not gonna be a retread of the comics.”

Henshaw (Max Mittelman) and Irons (Byron Marc Newsome) both had small roles in Season 2. This season will also pay off another earlier character introduction: Lex Luthor (Mittelman), introduced as a Superman-hating whiz kid in previous seasons.

According to Wyatt, Lex will finally have a bigger part this season. My Adventures with Superman has not currently been renewed for a Season 4, but Wyatt and co. have pitched one.

It does have an upcoming spin-off, My Adventures with Green Lantern, starring young Jessica Cruz, who becomes part of the galactic peacekeeping Green Lantern Corps. Wyatt confirmed to EW that Jessica will cameo in My Adventures with Superman Season 3.

My Adventures with Superman Season 3 premieres on Saturday, June 13, at midnight on Adult Swim.
