Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 Episode 10 Review: Miami Beach and a Magical Family Christmas
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2, Episode 10, “Miami Beach and a Magical Family Christmas,” offers some family dysfunction this holiday season.
The midseason finale for Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 comes to us immediately after episode 9. Where that one focused more on the business dysfunction, this one focuses on the family in shambles.
With Christmas coming, the McAllisters are scrambling to make their plans. Both Georgie and Mandy are ready to focus on work, but Audrey has something else in mind.
Upon hearing that Mary and Missy are going to California to visit Sheldon for the Holidays, her unyielding need to compete with Mary kicks in, and she decides that they have to take a trip for the holidays.

The episode is equal parts funny, aggravating, and so very real. Nobody is happy! Except for Ceecee, maybe.
Georgie and Mandy both planned to work over the holidays. Georgie even declined the California trip so that he could work.
However, because she can’t stand to be outdone by Mary Cooper, Audrey instead decides that they’re all going on vacation to Miami. It’s immediately evident that nobody is excited about it.
Audrey is a genuine menace this episode, and it feels a little too real at points. This isn’t a bad thing by any means. Rachel Bay Jones did a fantastic job portraying her.
Furthermore, Will Sasso as Jim gives another standout performance, showing the usually very even-keeled character losing his patience. He’s understandably at his wits’ end this episode, and it’s a little jarring to witness. He snaps a few times throughout, and it’s strange.

Fortunately, the whole episode isn’t just the family fighting; the tension has plenty of jokes mixed in to keep things from being too uncomfortable. Missy specifically has quite a few fun moments.
As dark as it is, it’s funny to see Missy pull the “my dad is dead” card in an attempt to guilt her way onto the Miami trip. What’s even funnier is that she does get to go in the end.
All of the tension reaches its peak on the car ride to the airport. Watching the whole family argue in traffic, crammed into a packed car while Christmas music plays, is relatable in the worst way.
In another truly cruel twist of fate, it’s raining in Miami when they arrive. Everything that could have gone wrong did, and there’s no resolution.
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage has a tendency not resolve its conflicts, so it’s only fitting that the midseason finale concludes with everyone mad at each other.

This is a rather bleak place to leave it, so fortunately, the episode instead ends with a scene between Connor and Ceecee. It’s good to see him being a good uncle, and it’s very endearing to watch him sing a parody of the “12 Days of Christmas” to her.
The parody, of course, is about everything that went wrong on the trip, but nevertheless, it’s nice that the episode closed on a sweet note.
Season 2 of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage has been working to build tension within the family, and it has succeeded. By the time the show comes back, hopefully, we’ll likely be seeing some changes, for better or worse.
