Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 Episode 7 Review: A Bus Bench and Faith out the Wazoo
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 Episode 7, “A Bus Bench and Faith out the Wazoo,” brings us right back to business. On this new episode, we return to the auto shop, and thankfully, it is not nearly as stressful this time.
The episode nicely calls back to the season’s first episode, when Georgie says they should hire an accountant. This time around, they do not settle it with a foot race.
Ruben just flat-out vetoes it, and now Georgie has to find another way to handle the books.

Usually, whenever Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage tackles a plotline related to the shop, it ends up feeling far more stressful than funny.
It’s not easy to watch a young, naïve business owner struggle so hard. The sickening sense of dread that comes from the scenario overshadows any jokes made.
But “A Bus Bench and Faith out the Wazoo” counters that dread by lowering the stakes a bit and focusing more on interpersonal character conflict than the stressful freefall of a small business in peril.
This episode is instead more about the moms and their beef.

Zoe Perry returns once more as Mary Cooper and, as always, portrays the character perfectly. Mary and Audrey do not like each other, to put it lightly, and Georgie uses this to his advantage throughout the episode.
Georgie goes to his mom to help with the books to start, but when Mary doesn’t tell him what he wants to hear, he goes to Audrey instead. And Audrey is more than happy to go against Mary.
It’s a bit immature on Georgie’s part, but not at all out of character. Besides, it’s not like Mary and Audrey’s beef is any less childish. Obviously, Mary puts the pieces together and goes to confront Audrey, where, in a true twist, they find some common ground.
These two have hated each other since Young Sheldon, so to see them have a genuine conversation and form a truce is nice; even if the truce is incredibly short-lived.

By the end of the episode, the two hate each other again. It might have been too much to expect Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage to resolve a conflict by the end.
It is more realistic for this to be the outcome, especially considering they bonded over what is basically a mutual enemy. However, it was disappointing that the episode ended on such a low note.
The B plot wraps itself up a lot more nicely.
Jim is a standout character in the series for how grounded he is. We all know someone exactly like him, and his whole saga of being in denial about his age is something most people have witnessed.

The scene of him showing off his new glasses at the DMV was incredibly funny and such a charming moment for the character. Nobody could get him down! Even if the episode itself ended on a bit of a letdown.
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is at its best when it focuses on its characters and their dynamics. “A Bus Bench and Faith out the Wazoo” effectively explores character dynamics through Georgie’s business, even if the ending leaves a bit to be desired.
