Ransom Canyon Season 2 Adds Patricia Clarkson as a Guest Star

A few new people, including one played by Patricia Clarkson, are coming to Ransom Canyon when it returns for its second season on Netflix.

Clarkson joins the series as Claire O’Grady, Quinn’s mother. Netflix’s Tudum describes the character as “both maternal and self-involved.”

Ben Robson and Heidi Engerman are also joining Ransom Canyon for its second season, but any details about their characters remain under wraps. 

Netflix announced the news cast members alongside the news that Ransom Canyon Season 2 has begun production in New Mexico at Netflix Studios Albuquerque.

“We’re thrilled to be back and can’t wait to turn up the steam, the drama, and the romance that Ransom fans have grown to love,” creator, executive producer, and showrunner April Blair said in a statement, per Variety. 

The show’s second season finds the future of Ransom Canyon hanging “in the balance as ranching dynasties continue to vie for power, and new faces arrive, threatening the lives and loves of this quaint, western town,” per its logline. 

Ransom Canyon debuted with a 10-episode season in April. It spent four weeks in the Global Top 10 list and reached the Top 10 in 77 countries. Netflix renewed Ransom Canyon for a second season in June. 

“I couldn’t be happier that Netflix is ready to get back in the saddle for Ransom Canyon. Our dreamy little corner of Texas Hill Country is full of stories still untold, and we can’t wait to bring them to our incredible fans. Get ready for another ride,” Blair said in a statement, per Netflix’s Tudum. 

Minka Kelly and Josh Duhamel return as the show’s leads — Quinn O’Grady and Staten Kirkland, respectively. They also serve as executive producers alongside Dan Angel and Bradley Gardner. 

Ransom Canyon Season 2’s returning cast also includes Lizzy Greene, Garrett Wareing, Jack Schumacher, Marianly Tejada, Casey W. Johnson, Tatanka Means, Justin Johnson Cortez, Philip Winchester, Jennifer Ens, Brett Cullen, Kenny Miller, and Niko Guardado.

Johnson has been promoted to a series regular for the sophomore season. Meanwhile, Eoin Macken, who played Davis Collins, and Andrew Liner, who portrayed Reid Collins, will not return for Season 2.
