It’s official! Scrubs will return for another season on ABC — 15 years after it ended.

The revival, which received a straight-to-series order, is set to air in the network’s 2025/2026 programming slate, according to Deadline. Scrubs will join returning scripted series High Potential, Shifting Gears, Abbott Elementary, 9-1-1, and Grey’s Anatomy, as well as the freshman drama 9-1-1: Nashville

Zach Braff, who starred in the original series as J.D. (John Dorian), joined — or rejoined — the series in May 2025. Donald Faison, who played Chris Turk, and Sarah Chalke, who starred as Elliot Reid, will also star on Scrubs Season 10.

All three will executive produce the series that has been in early development since December 2024.

Bill Lawrence, the creator of the original series, will executive produce the revival. “Scrubs means so very much to me. So excited for the chance to get the band back together,” Lawrence said in a statement, per TV Line.

The new season’s logline reads as follows:

“JD & Turk scrub in together for the first time in a long time- medicine has changed, interns have changed, but their bromance has stood the test of time. Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart, and some surprises along the way.”

Tim Hobert (a writer, executive producer, and consulting producer on the original series) and Aseem Barta (a writer and story editor on the original series) will be the showrunners and executive producers of the new Scrubs season.

Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer will also EP the reboot on behalf of Lawrence’s production company, Doozer.

Scrubs premiered on NBC and aired for seven seasons. After its cancellation, ABC renewed the series for an eighth season, as well as the 13-episode ninth season, Scrubs: Med School. The show ended in 2010.

The original series starred Braff, Faison, Chalke, John C. McGinley as Perry Cox, Judy Reyes as Carla Espinosa, Ken Jenkins as Bob Kelso, and Neil Flynn as The Janitor. As of reporting, no other original cast members are confirmed to return.

Scrubs Season 10 will air on ABC.
