Jack Alcott Talks Dexter: Resurrection and Filming Harrison’s Bloody Scenes in the Premiere
Harrison Morgan may be developing his own code as he follows in his father’s footsteps. Jack Alcott is reprising the character of Harrison in Dexter: Resurrection, and the two-episode series premiere shows him putting into practice what he’s learned from Dexter Morgan.
In my recent interview with Jack Alcott and James Remar, Alcott talked about what it was like to film both that brutal murder scene and that bloody body-chopping sequence. (You can watch the full interview below.)

Alcott described filming both of those scenes as being an absolute blast.
“I’m a sucker for fight choreo, anything action,” he said. He enthusiastically recalled filming a fight scene in Dexter: New Blood, where he described the energy as “kids in a candy store” because it was so much fun to do. He said it felt the same way filming the bathroom brawl with Brian Lillis (who plays Harrison’s victim, Ryan).
In fact, he was so caught up in the moment that he swung that toilet tank lit just a little too hard.
“The toilet tank lid, I believe it was supposed to break in half,” Alcott said. “We only had two breakables that day, and the first time, I just swung it as hard as I could, and it vaporized. I mean, it was just sand, instantly.”

He tried to be a little lighter the second time, but said it was difficult to “pull that back in that moment,” and the same thing happened with the second one. Both Alcott and Remar agreed this was for the best, though, as the end result looks incredible on screen.
As for filming the chopping of Ryan’s body, Alcott didn’t register how graphic it all was until he watched it later. Instead, he was focused on the difficult choreography involved for continuity.
“There was a lot to think about there, so that didn’t really hit me until I watched playback later and looked at pictures,” Alcott said. “Once I watched it, [I was] hit with the like, ‘ohhh it’s gnarly!’
